Hi All,

I'm sending Originals and just wondering how many photocopies of each original should be I send along. I read it somewhere that 1 Original and 1 Photocopy but not sure if that is correct. Please let me know as I'm ready to mail the packet today.

Also, Is it OK to write the NVC case # on Original documents?

Thanks,

Thanks for the reply Lotto. I thought the purpose to write the NVC case # was that they won't get misplaced. I have read it many times here that NVC misplaced the originals. Is there any harm in writing the Case # maybe using a Pencil?

Thanks,

Here's a little tip for you. 2-hole punch the tops of all your paperwork. When you assemble it, use the metal binder clips for 2-hole folders. They work awesome, and makes it easier to keep everything together. Plus, it looks more professional...just my 2 cents worth.

you can write the CASE# on original..

what i did is i made a sticker with the case# on it and put on each document.. (no issue)

then paper clip it all together (no issue)

I sent two additional copies just in case and marked the original one with a post-it note because it wasn't always clear which one was the original.

Uh Oh :o . I just mailed my papers but I did not mark which one is original. I did make color copies so they all look alike. I hope i won't get an RFE just because of that. Some of the originals (marriage cert, Police report) has photos attached, so its easy to differenciate. Hopefully they are smart enough to figure that out.

They won't send you an RFE just for that. You have sent them the original + the photocopy. I tried both, and the color copies these days are so good that I purposefully did a black and white photocopy. On my documents, I didn't even add a case number/name, I should have. But my case is complete and Chennai has my docs.

Oh dear I probably shouldn't have mentioned that. No worries they will be able to tell them apart. I just did that because I'm a person that worries all the time if all eventualities and possible mistakes are not cleared up before hand.

You will be fine.
