Well after applyinf first for my Fiance visa in April 2004 and getting married in February 2005, we had our interview today in New Orleans, it meant a 3 hour drive from Jackson, MS to get there for our scheduled appointment of 11:30am (we arrived at 9:45am leaving at 6:40 nnot wanting to risk traffic on way). Anyway once our name was called at 11:50am we swore an oath to tell the truth.....they had lost a biographical page of my application so I had to fill out another.....for some reason I put maritial status as divorced.....then when she pointed it out I changed it to single......well we all had a laugh, I couldnt remember at what point I had filled out the silly form!! Anyway we showed her last years IRS forms, bank statements, marriagbe certificate, photo's.....which she barely skimmed over.....went away and photocopied some things then came back and said she couldnt run the name check as the system was down but would by the end of the day and I was approved other than that..........and I know there will be no problems there......so 28 months of paperwork, waiting and expense came down to less than 10 minutes and I was told I was approved and in 21 months to apply to remove the conditions on my residency and i would recieve my green card/conditional residency card in 2 weeks!!

Thanks, I just couldnt believe that after all of that it was less than 10 minutes in an out and didnt seems interested in anything we brought down with us, just an yes you are approved as long as nothing comes up against your name when i run it later in day.......which obviously nothing will and I can apply for citizenship in 3 years if I want. Makes you wonder why all that time and expense for under 10 minutes. But at least it is over with now!
