I just called NVC. I think I talked to the rudest person ever in NVC. Here I am calling him "sir" trying to be respectful and not too pushy. But he was being condescending. If only I wasn't in need of their services now, I would've probably tell them off. Or if they were my financial institution. I understand that they are under no impulse to baby me or show me any mor erespect. But for gay Pete's sake, just be a little friggin' professional. We aren't worthless sh**bags devoid of any appetite for some professionalism and, heaven forbid, some respect. This is not how government employee's should be behaving with the very citizens who they are supposed to be serving.

100% Agreed !

Except few, most of the NVC operators that I have been talking to are very unprofessional and rude. They even don't know how to talk to the people. C'mmon we have paid for their service. Those friggin' $404 and $88 plus others fees after NVC completion, those are our hard earned money and we aren't paying them for being so unpolite with us.

Good you didn't call me Octopus Paul. Otherwise, I would have died after the prediction :P

This is the timing for normal path of NVC, after both packages delivery from your side

1) 2 weeks for them to enter it

2) 2 weeks for them to review and close the case that includes SIF

3) Interview depends on how busy is the Consulate (or rather how long Consulate sleeps :P)

Update: I just called NVC to see if I can get any additional information about my case. The lady said that "your case has been completed and now we are waiting to schedule an appointment based on the consulate load. Please call back next week Tuesday and we can let you know if you have gotten an interview date or no in December".

i know Mumbai consulate is really really busy and takes 1.5-2 months at the minimum. So doubt it will happen in December but January, 2011 looks good for me.
