My husband sent our I-130 package in the mail back at the end of July, but we have yet to hear anything back from the government. It was sent on July 26th but we haven't gotten our NOA-1 or been told it was rejected! Is there any way we can find out what the status is?? Everything I've read on here people have gotten there NOA-1 notices within a few days...for us it's been almost 2 months!!

there is a difference between patience and persistence, I have plenty of the second but still working on the first...

You should call USCIS and tell them that you didn't receive your NOA1 notice, they have contact number

on their website. NOA1 has case number on it. Then you'll be able to track it online using this number.

Good luck!

I suggest you email an inquiry into the lockbox support -

USC Spouse can also check in with the lockbox operations in Chicago, via email - use lockboxsupport@dhs.gov for the email address - include in the body:

petitioner's name, dob, ssn

beneficiary's name, dob

along with a query for 'what happened to my I-130 submittal?'

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

Ok, check with him if he had included completed G-1145 form as well. If yes, he would have got email specified. Check the spam/junk/bulk folder as well, if email had been specified.

hey - any news?

if he paid via check, and the check was presented for payment

then HIS BANK should have some photo image of that check - and

on the back of the check, is the receipt # (sorta) - when you see it, add 1 to the last digit on the right. That SHOULD be yer receipt #.

So, hunt down that check, or photo image of the check (some banks store them online)

I called my husband today & he told me he didn't use a cheque when he sent the paperwork he mailed it with a money order.

I asked him if he received an email & he told me he's not sure because he's got a couple THOUSAND emails in his inbox but he's going to take a look.

I got his SSN from him so I'm still going to send an email just to be sure.

Quick update...

So my husband went though his emails & there is no email from them

He's looking into tracking down the money order

I sent an email to the lockbox...took them a week to reply & the only thing they told me is they can't tell me anything because I'm not the petitioner! But my husband said he'll resend the email.

This is soooo frustrating!

now you have clear instructions from lockbox staff.

and the weeks go on
