I'll be entering the US on Oct 28th, at Chicago O'hares, using my K1.

A friend works at a travel agency booked me a flight and she said she only found a round trip flight (no one way flights) for my and for my parents, who will be flying with me to attend my wedding.

Will this be a red flag at all? I think I read somewhere that a Moroccan man also traveled with a round trip ticket and they found it suspicious.

Best if you can find a one-way ticket for yourself...it makes sense because you are immigrating.

Your family needs round-trip tickets; it would be more suspicious if they had one-way tickets since they are only visiting to attend your wedding.

Be smart, have a plan, and hang on to the people you love. - Chris Gardner

Cheap round-trip tickets (especially those which are less than a one-way fare) are not at all a red-flag--in fact, a tried-and-true method.

I think I read somewhere that a Moroccan man also traveled with a round trip ticket and they found it suspicious.

I'd be interested to know where you read that. I was under the impression that it didn't matter, seeing as the majority of the time, a round-trip ticket is actually cheaper than one-way. I've seen tons of people ask this question before, and all of them have been given the same advice: round-trip is fine, CBP officers know that airfare is expensive and that round-trip often costs less than one way. Also, in terms of your ticket status, the CBP officer will only know what you tell them. They can't see in their little computer that you've purchased a round-trip ticket. If they ask you directly, obviously don't lie. Explain that you bought it because it was cheaper and that you don't intend to use the return portion of the ticket. If they don't ask you, then just don't bring it up and you shouldn't have a problem.

It's possible that this Moroccan man had other red-flags that made the CBP officers question his intentions.

HEyy how are you my friend?!!

I dont think you will have any problems with that... many people talk about how cheap round trip tickets can be (it was not cheap for me tho) I do think your parents need round tickets since they will come on a tourist visa and they are supposed to go back home!

lol its funny you are worried about having a round ticket! because I was actually worried about having one way ticket hahaha.... because the airlines expect you to have round tickets but I guess ill just show them my K1visa :D

He might have actually, Morocco is a high fraud country specially for a man.

I just researched and I read on it, it shouldn't be a problem, tons of people do it, and the US can't force people to stay, so anyone has the freedom if they want to return back home.

LOL @GJen, don't worry, they'll just ask to see your passport, copy some info from it, and you'll be fine! The round trip we booked was for about $750, the one way ticket were at least $1250... so, it wasn't a hard decision to make :)
