So, whats IN the white envelope? Do I hand it over at POE or take it with me to the US? What happens to it?

The one with all your stuff in it that came with your passport and visa? Ours was manilla and it was filled with magic smoke.

Just kidding. You turn it into the POE when you cross. You present it at primary screening and they'll take it into secondary. I've read 2 stories where the CBP have not taken the envelope. Make sure they take it.

Good luck

Yeah!! Mine is white, and fluffy fat! My kids is also white and there are maybe three peices of paper in there? They're stamped - no lie - about 8 times with the do not open stamp and taped shut right across the top wrapping the sides lol! Crazy.

Hand it over at POE and they will open it, if your lucky they might open it infront of you like they did with me! it was really weird seeing all the papers in there with red writing and strange marks all on it!

Mine was full and white too.

But it had a page that was taped on all sides to the envelope with big letters that said DO NOT OPEN.

And a letter explaining what to do with it all.

It just has all the paperwork you sent in with your I-129F, and then all the paperwork you submitted to the consulate, plus your medical information. Like Inky said, they opened it in front of me at the POE and flipped through it so I could see everything. They added this weird cover page to the initial petition and wrote a bunch of stuff all over it. The packet actually made another appearance at my AOS interview. It was strange. At my AOS interview they had this giant folder of me with all my AOS paperwork, plus all the original K-1 paperwork from start to finish. So I guess everything ends up in the same place! Or at least it should.

Actually, that fluffy white envelope contains the start of your life with USCIS, as Hugglebuggles noted. It will re-appear, growing larger on each appearance, as you go through the immigration process. When you file for AOS they will add to the file started by the contents of the fluffy white envelope. When you file for EADs and APs they will add those to the file. When you file to Remove Conditions they will add those to the ever increasing file - and when you get to the citizenship stage and you have your interview you will again see this massive file containing every piece of paper every submitted, written, reported, documented, transcribed and transferred about you and your immigration journey on the desk of the interviewer. Mine required 2 huge file folders several inches thick each to contain all the 'evidence'. I kind of like that they have to lug around that weighty file since they required me to prove to them the legitimacy of our relationship - and they had to read each and every single page of that file! :D Ah, you know, there is a sense of satisfying revenge in all of that, after all, hehehe.

ROFL @ rainbow. You DID answer that drug questions honestly, right?

ANYWAY- just want to be sure that it stays with the customs peeps at the airport because I've been to the US so many bleepin times those guys know my name and LOVE to give me a hard time. ... like being unpacked right there... or spilling coffee on my degree during one of my TN entrances... or making me miss one of my flights alltogether because they thought my child travel letter wasn't real.... I love these guys. (L) It would be my luck that they fark this up as well.

haha and they wonder where our paranoia comes from... sheesh.
