Facebook users 'are insecure, narcissistic and have low self-esteem'

People who don't use Facebook wear it like some badge of honor. Talk about narcissism.

Well... in all fairness I wear not using MySpace as a badge of honor. MySpace is like the Section 8 housing of the social networking world. Full of unemployed single moms, drug dealers and hoes.

It says that such sites provide an ideal setting for those who have a tendency to be a certain way, it doesn't say that all users are, or will develop those tendencies. Hey ho, if you don't want to use them, don't use them, if you do, do.

Refusing to use the spellchick!

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

more likely that people who use facejerk are 20% stupider than those who don't.

The irony...

I think it's a boredom thing as well. I definitely have a few people on my Facebook that update their status 10 times a day, and they're usually unemployed mums who post about their kids' eating, sleeping, social habits etc. And then post to let everyone know what they're having for dinner, and that they're going to bed.

I have to admit though, I do love a Facebook public brawl. Especially between ex-partners. I know, I'm probably very sad for admitting to that.

All 500 million of them? Wow.

I think they are talking about the people who update their status frequently.

I'd agree with it, there are some people I know who camp out on there.

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

Facebook brawl? How pathetic can people be. I like to know people like that so I can insult them and not have to worry about any TOS #######.

PC term is stay at home mums. Yeah, we have a lot of those in the area and they ###### drive me nuts. By the way some act, you'd think they feel they are the first mothers to ever walk the earth.

Yeah, I've seen a fair share of brawls. Everything from "stay-at-home mums" swearing that the father won't be seeing his kids any time soon and then being attacked by his family - to people that are annoyed with their friends and an argument ensues. Crazy, isn't it. One time one of my Friends posted her opinion on smoking during pregnancy and was bombarded by comments from women that had miscarried.

Facebook is great for keeping in touch with friends like never before, but it's also a death trap for airing problems.

asked 100 students, 50 male and 50 female, aged between 18 and 25 about their Facebook habits.

that would explain why they think that. the study is only in the age group of young adults. let alone the age where grandstanding gets you the girls (guys if you're female). and add to that college students?...LOL.

yeah and i just don't see how people can advertise what they are doing every single second of their life. i have a facebook account but my friends are strictly family and relatives. a handful of really close friends that i've known for half my life (and a couple even longer). i log on once a week...because that's how my oldest son communicate with me since he's in school during the times i call the wife. but i just don't troll the site looking for people to add. i just can't believe how there are people out there so freakin' comfortable with airing their dirty laundries on a social networking site so easily.

My well formed sense of self esteem is what caused my narcissism

The theory that narcissism is caused by low self esteem is similar to the theory that burning Korans will cause the Muslims to behave.

Facebook is for soppy women who haven't got enough cats/kids/dogs, and guys looking for more contacts to facilitate their next bonk

It causes depression eventually and that is good for my pharma stocks
