Background Checks

Is anyone (or have you had) any trouble with employment background checks? I only got my SSN and GC in July and basically when they do these background checks it comes back as though I don't exist. I don't understand it as I have a credit card already. It's so frustrating!

U mean the background check for employement?

They dont take that long, sometimes less then a week or max couple weeks, basically they look for criminal record if u have any and if they asked u to attend a medical check, then they test for drug abuse.

A few times Nik has had to fill out two sets of background check forms - one for international people. Maybe you need to emphasize that you are newly immigrated if they are denying you because it's coming up empty....

When i had my employment background check, my employer is aware that it's my first job and i just moved from another country. I have set expectations with them that I can give them names of people who knows me in US but as far as professional background check, they had to contact someone from Philippines and they did.

Same here. My background check took two weeks because all of my work experience was in the Philippines.

My background check was done in one week. They had to call me because they didn't find me the first time.I had to spell my name one more time and after that everything was ok. I'm not a criminal....
