Moving with I-130 pending via DCF?

Does the DCF process get screwed up if we move to another jurisdiction (e.g. the US on an F-1 visa) either before or after DS-230?

I am not 100% sure, but from just having gone through the DCF myself, I would say yes.

The reason being your case documents are in the consulate of your original filing, the case number is indicating your consulate and as was pointed out in other posts, the procedure for DCF changes with every consulate.

Yes; the USC can move to the US once the I-130 is filed, but the foreign spouse needs to stay until the process is done. Considering how little time DCF usually takes, hopefully he won't miss too much of school.

It's really not that short, in Canada. Some people who filed I-130s in Oct/Nov/Jan are just now getting interview dates.

@birdnerd : oh its too much time for DCF in canada..otherwise in other countries mostly its around 3 month only....Canada is like a second part of US...so there should be some fastner...:-)

@prkriti : As i know ,USC can go anywhere but the beneficiary has to live in his/her country(where DCF is filled).May be ask to nearest consulate.
