I recv notice this morning (rather early) by text/email that my petition is approved and noa2 is on the way... So what is the next step in process for me in gathering docs and getting ready for the interview? any help from members would be GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!

now you need to start gathering financal papers. You will need tax return transcripts for past 3yrs, I-134, pay stubs, letter from employeer. Check out the Guides link at the top of page also the Example Forms. That will help you greatly. Your Finance will need to gather stuff as well. Police certificate, schedule medical, etc. I will have to look for the check list that my husband and I used.

Another Mama Jew on the way!!!!!

You may start to put together a file. For the petitioner's end their financial papers: employment letter, w-2 for past two years, income tax return, bank letter, affidavit of support, and updated letter of intent if it is fiance visa.

On the beneficiary's side, there are a few forms that need to be filled out. If you refer to some of the member's timeline, a few of them suggest the types of forms. There is one that needs to be sent back to embassy immediately after filling out, so start with that one first. you may need to do research on where you can complete your medical. Also, police clearances are necessary, and these as I hear take the longest time.

All the best, and congratulations.

Ok. here are some of the forms you need to get to work on. There are some examples of these forms under the example forms tab. DS-156, DS-156k, DS-157, DS-158, DS-230.

Your fiance will also need to get 6 passport size photos.

I know, it's just that a little encouragement would be nice. I'd at least like to know someone has looked at it since early July.

thanks for all the info everyone... will i receive notice from NVC by email or snail mail, and when do i need to pay for the visa?

most times you get it in snail mail.........you pay for the visa before the interview... it is when you send in your packet that they request for you to send once your approved petition is at the embassy.

I would definitly work on getting the paperwork that most people get tripped up on at the interviews. Divorce paperwork, child custody, police clearances, affidavit of support documents, and sometimes proof of domicile. Although I think proof of domicile is more necessary if you were filing a IR1 or CR1.

Given my own personal experience. I would suggest getting police certificates in order, particularly if you lived out of the country for greater than the allowed time frames (6mths to 1yr or greater I seem to recall).

Being the Petitioner, Am I correct to assume by police clearances, you are referring to the beneficiary?
