September Filers

I called USCIS last Friday about this issue.

The first guy I spoke to immediately recognized it as something he couldn't answer so escalated it to somebody more senior.

They confirmed that they have had several calls about it and they are still trying to identify what has happened. She confirmed that she can see on my file that they have received my biometrics which is why they don't know why these letters are being sent out.

Her advice was to send to the service center a copy of the odd NOA and a copy of the ASC receipted biometrics so that the service center can see that the biometrics have been done. That seems sensible advice to me.

According to my on-line status it still shows "initial review".

Today I received a response to my E-mail from CSC-NCSC:

The system shows you have taken your biometrics November 5, 2010 and they are on the system, picture, thumb print and signature.

Your finger prints are also noted completed. Please disregard the new request.

Thanks,

Officer McClellan

So as I (we) expected, this notice is being sent out in error, of course I can't guarantee anything for others but since this is the response i got it's pretty safe to state you shouldn't worry about the weird letter.

Back to waiting for approval it is then :P

Yes, most groups started to see a couple of approvals in about two months....things seem to be moving much slower for us than for earlier months this year  Our earliest Sept Filers have waited three months already!

If you look at the volumes (on the USCIS site) of incoming applications and the ones that have been processed, there is a gap for the last 5 out of six months that are listed on the USCIS site. CSC has an 8800 case backlog over the latest 6 months published, which is likely why processing times are increasing. Frustrating, but all you can do is wait (it was 2 months since my biometrics LUD yesterday :( )

I was a little concerned about contents of my package. It had some essential stuff but it was very small: couple of apartment rental agreements, health insurance cards, car insurance, plane tickets and boarding passes from our summer trip to Poland - all these had both our names on. We also sent 6 photographs and birth certificate of our son (we already submitted it previously 2 years ago with I485 package). No joint bank accounts, credit cards, or other joint ownerships.

Doesn't have to be insufficient. Children for instance add lot of value to your application and you have submitted your sons BC. Lot of people in this country don't have bank accounts so not having submitted joint account information doesn't make your evidence insufficient. It is the combination of things that counts. If not enough, you'll get a RFE. If you anticipate one, gather more info already, that way you'll be ready to overload them with more.
