Every civil surgeon I have called is requiring a full medical and argueing that a full medical is needed. All K Visa holders know this is wrong. Does anyone know of any Civil Surgeon whom understands the rules when it comes to K Visa holders. I am trying to find a place some where in Connecticut where I can get my fiances vaccination records transcibed to the I-693. Can anyone provide any information? Thanks

The girl on the phone at the Dr.'s office argued with me about this, the girl at the desk, the nurse and the doctor all thought the full exam had to be completed. I had printed out the I-485 instructions and circled the part on them that said only a transcription was needed for K-1 visa holders. My wife showed that paragraph to each person who questioned what we were telling them and they did the transcription only and only charged us for that. Somehow if you show it to them in writing, it makes you more believeable. So you might want to consider doing that.

No, I called Dr. Astrid Clarke and she was the one who I had to argue with and finally said she would transcibe it for 175.00. Then I called Dr. Patrick Asiedu and they said a full medical is required, and I said K visas are not required and they said it doesn't matter. It is as if everyone is on there own agenda and no one follows the USCIS rules.

Hey Matt,

I am not in your area but I had the same issue when my husband came. I finally found a dr that transcribe his medicals for 175.00 as well that also included a extra shot they claime dhe needed over here and I had to get a copy of the xray report from The Hospital in JA in order for them to complete everything. Hope it work out for you.

That's why I showed them in writing it wasn't necessary and insisted on getting a lower price for the transcription. They originally wanted to charge $175, but only charged us $69 once we proved it.

God, this US civil surgeon thing is such a scam. I don't have any particular advice about CT except keep calling people on the civil surgeon list to find someone who's not stupid or evil. Good luck.

There are very few doctors who will charge you only for transcribing. They know they can get away with it. And if possible they will try to charge you more at the visit. I work in the medical field and have seen some pretty wild charges

For a lot, I think it might be ignorance about the whole K-1 visa. There are a lot of foreign employees where I live (and work) and for the civil surgeon here, he's probably more used to having to do the full medical. Just keep calling around and if they protest, read them word for word the I-485 instructions.

Matt&Kaci just try calling calling everyone on that list until you find someome reasonable. When I was looking for a Civil surgeon to do my husbands 693 form I was getting some ridiculous price myself. One office told me $400 at first then I explain to them that he did not need the full medical and then she said $250 I said " $250 for what to fill out couple pieces of paper" so I moved on to the next number. I finally found a Civil surgeon who only charge me $25 to fill out the form for my husband. Just keep trying.

GREAT NEWS!!!! Found a Civil Surgeon who has been doing this for over 25 years. I asked if they deal with K Visa Immigrants and they said "you mean the transferring of the vaccinations to the I-693. There was no bulls**t or anything. She said it coast $50 dollars for the transcribing, very nice woman. Great to find a civil surgeon not looking to rip me off. Just in case there are any other Connecticut filers, the address of this doctor is:

Dr. Henry Jacobs

I'm very happy I came across this thread. I went to see Dr. Henry Jacobs earlier this week and it was a very good experience altogether. Transcription is still $50. The address has changed since to 1 Northwestern Drive, Suite 202, Bloomsfield CT, 06002. Phone number is still the same.
