happy Saturday all, its Caturday everyday at my house.... :)

we've gotten a break this weekend from the hellish heat so I am actually not afraid to turn on the oven, I think I'll do some baking. or at least have a nap without being drenched in sweat :rofl:

Jeanne I love that mountain pic - I lived for years in NM and UT and I sure miss those mountains....

Happy Caturday ya'll

I am at work til 4pm~~then measure 2 houses for carpeting

We were sitting outside smoking a hookah the other night and shared it with the neighbors~~it was a fun night. So this morning when I was leaving for work they were like...' Are you smoking tonight?' lol

It's 65 degrees here and chilly outside for August. :unsure: Wonder if this is just a hiccup or if fall is coming early.

I made koshari for the first time last night. Hubby told me it was delicious but that it tasted like the American version of koshari. I even used the spices he brought from Egypt but alas. I also made this "5 minute cucumber salad" I got off the internet but it took more like 20 minutes to make. blush.gif I also did a hummus with pita bread and celery sticks to dip in it. Last I got out the red grapes.

I asked him now does this feel like a meal or do you still feel like we're faking a meal and you're an orphan here? He explained to me that when the female of the house cooks it's like a mother breast feeding her child and showing her care for the family and creating that family bond. I told him I was sorry but I can't relate to his theory. That all I see are the male and female archetypes being placed on people. He asked doesn't it feel good when you're study and someone brings you a cup of tea showing they are caring for you? I explained to him that with the way I was raised as a child I did all the cooking and cleaning and was the little Cinderella slave so sometimes I am resentful and angry in this position again and that I was sorry that I didn't feel the same way he felt about it. Then he said something kind of profound to me because it sticks with me. He said that's because when you're a child it's not your turn to give, it's your turn to take and be cared for. I got kind of sad there because my whole life from early childhood has been me giving and I'm spent. I'm completely drained and exhausted doing for others, but life doesn't stop and give us breaks, it keeps marching on and now here I am giving and caring for a husband and cleaning for a household of four adults and still dealing with the resentment and anger of the past. At least his love is reciprocal.

I REALLY need a vacation. Like some time alone in nature to rejuvenate my spirit.

Happy Caturday MENA!!!

This pretty much sums up the way I feel about hubby learning to drive!!! I had to tell him that he needed to have at least 2 weeks of practice driving before he gets me in the car again!!! He scared the living daylights out of me!!! This is why I didn't teach my kids how to drive!!!!:girlwerewolf2xn: :girlwerewolf2xn:

Wonderful, how was the concert??? I haven't gotten to check to see if you had a thread or not for it!!

Olivia, I feel for ya girl! With both parents working when I was growing up, I did a lot of housework and taking care of younger siblings too. Right now I am at the stage of my life to where I clean my house because I want to, and same goes with cooking for anyone.

LOL poor hubby, with Ramadan, he goes for the mosque to break fasting, so that kind of spares me from cooking! He usually cooks something for me and my son!!! I think that is how he makes it to Mahgrib! How I don't know, strong will I guess!

Mandy, have a safe trip to Detroit! Yay for moms!!! I used to love when my mom came to Atlanta to help me. Who knew, I moved back to Florida to help take care of my mom!!!

Hey Andrea.. the concert was great :thumbs: i wasn't sure to make a thread for that or not.. i posted some pics in my photos.. i couldn't use my slr... i bought a camera Friday morning so i didn't really have a chance to test it out for nighttime photos... i will post my video clips(only 3 and they are short :crying: ) to youtube and try to post them on here somehow.. maybe in the musical moods :unsure: TFF rocks :dance::thumbs:

Do you guys know any cheap store to buy shisha stuff ? I bought some stuff from ebay and from differnet stores online but they are kinda high .
