I went to meet my fiancee last september for almost 3 weeks and after 2 weeks asked her to marry me and she said yes. I entered into our relationship with the understanding I would have work on a job for about 2 years which turned out to be a complete lie, there is no job. After waiting a few months and visiting regularly with my fiancee she asked me if I would come there for Christmas which I did and spent another month with her and the family. I have been supporting her and the 2 children for the last 8 months and just wonder what do I do since I can't prove employment but I want my family near me as soon as God is willing to serve our needs with many blessings. Should I even bother to try and petition yet, or continue to wait in loneliness and hopes that I will get a good paying job to provide for us ? please give me some advice I am really struggling with her absence from my life as she is my prov. 31 lady. My equally yoked woman and answer to prayers.

Do you think you can you find a co-sponsor, or find work by the end of the year? If so, petition now.

From my understanding it will be very hard to get approval unless you can provide a steady income, enough to support your wife and family. You can get around this if you can provide a co-sponsor who vouch for you and be held accountable in case things go back. I hope it works out though, hang in there!

The Philippines is one of a few countries the varies greatly on allowing and disallowing the use of a joint sponsor to get around the affidavit of support.

I have read many stories posted here from members whose fiance(e)s were denied visas when their joint sponsor was rejected and the USC could not prove a higher income.

Similarly I have been surprised when I have seen postings from people applying at the Embassy in Manila saying the CO issued a 221(g) telling them to have the USC peitioner find a joint sponsor to back up the petition.

It is absolutely impossible to predict with any certainty that a joint sponsor will be allowed. At least with the Embassy in Bangkok I can tell you absolutely without a doubt it is not allowed.

Good luck.

the best you can do is find a co-sponsor and hope for the best, without a full time job and some time at it you will not be able to go it alone, the US government has reasons for this, as they are not trying to discredit love, but make sure they are not allowing an immigrant to enter into financial hardship right off the bat!
