So my wife and I, had our Interview at Garden City, New York, today. A liitle confusion as to where to go once inside. Believe it or not they actually came looking for us in a few of the waiting areas. Once called we were ushered into an office, the interview lady was very nice and polite and after swearing in asked just a few basic questions confirming our names, telephone numbers and dates of birth. She then proceeded to ask us why we filed twice. We explained the mix up in alien numbers and even the MTR that resulted from the originally denied AOS case, and the numerous blunders that our original case went through and that our lawyer suggested we refile. She then spent twenty minutes cleaning up our hefty sized file that had the original I-485, the MTR and the new I485 applications. She took some new documents from us actually only our jointly filed 2005 tax papers and that was it. She said the last of the security checks were still pending but that the greencard would be in the mail within 3 weeks. She stamped my Canadian passport and signed it. and explained how to remove conditions if the GC was a conditional one( we have 6 weeks till our 2 year anniversary) Otherwise if the security checks take longer that we might luck out and get an unconditional GC.

We said our goodbyes and left. She wasn't interested in our wedding photos, letters from friends, evidence of joint account, utility billls or anything else. WE WERE VERY PREPARED AND ORGANIZED thanks to this site.

Congrats on the successful interview. Too bad it took so long to get there, but the main thing is, you made it. Hopefully, you'll get the 10-year GC.
