Hey all I was wondering if we sent the AOS packet in already (I485 along with EAD and AP forms) and have received confirmation (receipt) numbers for each one, can we still get an Info Pass appointment to ask for Advance Parole in person? My wife has to leave the country in September to see her mom who is sick and is going through treatment so she won't be staying long (I hope).

Also will they need to know the exact date of her departure at the time of the Info Pass appointment?

I really hope the Fingerprinting appointment is soon or otherwise she will not be here when we get the appointment letter. Can we change the time/date on that if necessary?

Thanks in advance for all your help.

Yes you can make an infopass appointment, you need to bring proof of her mothers illness and that she needs to be there with her to try and get the AP document early.

You can reshedual the biometrics appointment, when you get the letter stating the appointment time there is a box on the letter that says check this off and return it if you wish to reshedual your biometrics to a later date.

so our request to expedite AP was denied...talked to a not so nice lady at Seattle USCIS who could barely speak English...she said if my wife's mother is not dying, they can't expedite. Well she had hernia surgery a few years ago and now has complications that requires my wife to be there..USCIS doesn't care :(

So unless someone is dying in your family, don't expect to get anything expedited, welcome to the United States. So much for my wife getting a good impression about this country..

quick update..

so GREAT NEWS last night! I received an email that our request to expedite the I131 (AP) has been approved, the actual I131 is approved is what the letter says (email) and that they are mailing us the actual NOA I and my wife are REALLY excited because once she is done with her mom's surgery she can come back and spend the Holidays together! YAY!

Oh maybe I should mention how we got this done We had the original InfoPass appointment a few weeks back and we were denied since in the letter from the doctor he didn't mention specifically that my wife, Liliana, has to be present for this operation. We said ok, we'll get you the right paperwork. So after another week and a lot of running around by my brother-in-law (he's only 21) to get the right paperwork from the doctor (2 doctors), get it legalized and translated (quite a bit of money), we finally got the paper stack in our hands so I made another InfoPass appointment to present our case.

This time around we got to talk to a really nice and helpful lady that actually explained to us the only time they would give out emergency AP on the spot, is if someone in the family is dying or just died. She said that she CAN scan our documents and send them to the Service Center and ask them for us to expedite them. I said OF COURSE, THANK YOU

So she did that and 2 days later we got the approval email. I cannot be thankful enough to that lady (and USCIS or the Service Center), she was extremely helpful and actually took time to listen to our case and care about the situation. She even said "I'm sorry about your mom and good luck" when we left.

Anyway, so here we are, AP should arrive soon
