Hi,

Iam currently in the process of bringing my parents from the Philippines to US - i paid for Affidavit of Support.

Wonder if theres a time limit or how long i have to put together the paperworks/proofs they need? Iam worried that it will lapse and i have to re apply for them again.

Im going to use my husband income and mine, do you i need to fill up another form for him as a co sponsor?

do i need to have a lot of money in the bank to show that we can care for them? do they put a lot of weight to the bank statement?

Any input is highly appreciated.

thanks

you have 1 year to process all at NVC.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

we have the same case for filling the AOS. You have to fill up I-864 and I864a for your husband. You don't have to have alot of money in the bank nor your parents. You just have to meet the poverty line limit.

Thanks for all replies...

Is that mean I have 1 year since the time i paid to send the AOS papers or that is from when i applied for them?

We dont keep money in the bank thats why im worried about that - sending the bank statement will not really do any good but if its required I have to put some there and keep the money there for awhile.

you dont need to have money in the bank all you need is to reach the poverty line limit based on your income. dont let the ssue of not having money in the bank hinder you from procEssing the AOS
