we were doing the big white wedding at a golf club in orlando, but have since relised that it was a bad idea lol with all the stress of the unknown and the cost of the visa stuff etc..also we have decided that we would much rather start saving to get our own place together as soon as possible so we went ahead and cancelled the big wedding and booked a holiday to Vegas instead so we are having a small wedding and honeymoon there in a local church that we are both members off.

The stress has since been lifted and we are looking forward to the holiday and just spending time together. We will do something for the family etc at a later date.

Currently my fiance and I are planning on going the Justice of the Peace route and then having our big wedding when we can afford it further on down the line.
We did exactly this. Got legally hitched on Hallowe'en in early afternoon, then had our big bash on Pearl Harbor Day, si man. Showed up at the JP with my mom; the clerks all said, "Oh, someone must be getting married!" and oo'd at the Missus-to-be. After the JP did his thing, we asked if we could hand-carry the marriage license to the courthouse +/- 15 miles away to get the certificates; he agreed. We blew out of there, beelined it to the courthouse, made it half an hour before closing, ordered seven (7) certificates at $7 each, & got them while we waited. The clerkette noted that she'd never been asked for so many, but as it turned out, we needed them -- for AOS/AP, souvenirs for the moms, lost one or two, one for file... a good move, si man.

We then went to my mom's house for photos, then to dinner at a restaurant owned by a long-time Ecuadorian immigrant. The bride had two STRONG margaritas. When we got home, I tried to carry her across the threshold (all the while trying to keep the cat inside the door), & I dropped her. She was so pickled that she wasn't hurt & laughed about it.

For the bash, one of my cousins provided her large house (which backs onto a lake), & the bride had found a Hispanic photographic agency that was trying to build its portfolio & agreed to photo our bash for FREE, si man. All of my family was there, si man. I decided, logically, to wear my little-worn tux shoes along with my tux, & both of the soles promptly fell off. Fortunately, a spare pair of shoes was available at the house, si man. We had high-class cold-cuts & other comestibles available, si man. One can do a bash on the comparative cheap if one plans, investigates, & uses one's head, si man.

Edited to add:

(1) The most dangerous food is Wedding Cake, si man.

(2) Socrates died from an overdose of Wedlock, si man.

(3) Bigamy is having one wife too many. Monogamy is the same thing, si man.

(4) The wife is pregnant & sent me on yet another run for mangoes, plantain, & chocolate-chip ice cream, si man.

We're having a small civil service, in a gorgeous area, with just my family (...and the photographer, and the videographer) there. Afterwards, we're having dinner with my family (who all have cameras, so I anticipate lots of candids!) and having a quick skype toast with his family. We started planning what we wanted and what not before we applied for the visa, and by the time he landed, we had confirmed everything, and just had a few small things left to do (his tie, the cake, my earrings).

good day..as for us, as soon as we have my visa approved(really praying for this one,,interview date coming already..God help us!!),...no choice at all..although his from CA, but we will have our wedding at Missouri(his family lives there..)..no problem if we have it on court(it's ok for me, just being practical now)..but somehow his mom is very excited for the event(he's the youngest),helping us with preparations(really thankful my mother-in-law to be is very nice  )..his uncle is a pastor and we will not rent a chapel for the ceremony(big help already)..either so, we will just have his family and my sister coming on our wedding..It would be a simple and memorable ceremony for us(..just no roses..don't like it!!..I love lilies more!!.. :bonk: )..in any way, it's not the ceremony..it's about the promise you will have for each other that will make it memorable and the most special day in your life together!!..have a good day everyone..

Hi I am new here. How did the interview goes? What questions did they ask to your fiance?
