Unusual delay in getting interview call

Can someone please help me out with a situation i am facing. I am adding this post here because i especially wanted input from all the members who have recently received interview letters.

Now, my case for ir1 category was completed on june 29th and my son's on june 28th. Seeing NVC's pattern, it sends interview dates out to cases pertaining to pakistan at the end of each month.

So, i was expecting that i would get a call this month end, but i didnt....while i know from this forum that the embassy was scheduling and my case had an earlier closing date.

I am just worried that it could be due to the fact that may be my file has been misplaced?

Any thoughts?

you are expecting some one to actually call you, on the telephone?

I'm sorry, I'm not aware of this 'outbound call cycle' at all.

Most people make a call INTO NVC, get a Human and inquire about case status, all via telephone.

But that's the petitioner and/or beneficiary placing an OUTBOUND call INTO NVC,

not NVC making an OUTBOUND call to a petitioner and/or beneficiary.

You really should be calling INTO NVC, get a Human, and inquire for casefile status.

GOOD LUCK !

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

'Appologies for the confusion, i meant an intimation for the interview (email from nvc)...i have been calling nvc and have spoken to an operator. They just repeat the standard message that i did not make it for august interviews and that nvc schedules interviews in the second week

Alrighty then - wait for 2nd week in August. Whilst waiting, though - DO Confirm at NVC that the casefile has finished the 'final review' and is 'ready to go into the appointment queue', this upcoming week, via TELEPHONE .

Good Luck !

My husband and i are CR1. Our case was complete May 18. We also have been watching and noticed the USEM in Jordan scheduled theirs on the last week of the month. We still do not have an interview date. I dont know what is going on. NVC will tell you nothing. You are right, they always tell you the same thing, over and over again. I am beginning to think the same as you, that maybe our file is lost. They tell everyone that they schedule the 2nd week of every month but we all know this is not true. It depends on when then the USEM sends them a number of interviews that they can set each month.

Well then the question is if we can do something about it? I tried calling the embassy here in islamabad and they told me that the case file is still with NVC and that they will schedule the interview and then send it...which is correct ...only that when you call NVC they tell us that the scheduling depends on the load of the embassy. So, we just keep going in circles.

The operators at NVC did say that cases are scheduled on first come first served basis, i.e. cases completed earlier will be scheduled before that the cases completed later.

I also told the NVC operator that i know (through these forums) that people in pakistan whose case completed after mine have gotten an interview dates. However, i wasnt able to get a straight answer for this since i dont have specific details of these cases.

If any of your friends have been scheduled interview after yours and you have their case info, then maybe you can call NVC and tell them about these specific cases and ask why they have been scheduled and not you?

In the mean time, i am still trying to get hold of this info, though chances are slim that i might be able to.

you could always call in again to NVC - and get a supervisor - ask

--is casefile 'final review' completed?

--Islamabad is waiting to schedule the interview - why are you people holding it up?

--is the casefile in AP (Additional Processing) because of any namechecks?

--If you see nothing pending, nothing outstanding, 'final review' complete, could you PLEASE request the scheduling team to SCHEDULE the interview ?

don't muck about with the first person that answers the phone. Get a supervisor.

They just take you around in cricles and dont give any specific answer...these operators and the supervisors...i've come across other vj members who've been waiting for as long as three months and havent had any interview date.

Does anyone know why they take so long in one case and apparently other cases hear of interview dates within a week or so (i'm comparing cases from the same embassy)???

I know that knowing the answer wont still give me an interview date but atleast i will be able to understand the reason behind the hold up....

Thanks

Yup - 2 reasons -

--Today's queue and

--namechecks result.

For more info on namechecks, please review http://www.usaimmigrationattorney.com/SecurityNameChecksAndAdministrativeReview.html

I get the sinking feeling you've not run through the list of questions that I supplied to you, here in the topic, with an NVC Supervisor.

Well, believe me...i asked all four questions...word to word..spoke to Supervisor Sue...she didnt say anything the operator hadnt said already...and they both kept on repeating that the case is complete and waiting for interview to be scheduled at the islambad embassy..this was the answer to the first and the third question...for the last question she just said..NO we can not request the scheduling team to schedule the interview...

Also, if th case is 'complete' it could not be in name checks...else it is not complete..when they say 'complete' shouldnt it mean name check's been done...

What do you mean by today's queue...i have noticed from these and other forums that interviews scheduled for islamabad in sept are almost all non-ir1 cases..eb2 and f4 etc..so i was just wondering maybe they're just doing non-ir1 cases for now..i dont know if that's even how they work???

ya - 'today's queue' can be troublesome, as it always changes, from day to day.

Thanks for vetting the answers, though - that part really is important.

And do note - those answers can change, with each phone call.
