So long as you are legally able to be married your age doesn't matter. You're over 18.

Are you the USC? What country will you or your fiance interview in? There are some consulates that are notorious for denying for any reason, like Ecuador, and on occasion China and the Phillipines. I've never heard of them using age as a factor, but they usually claim lack of bona fide relationship.

Age shouldn't be an issue at all, as long as both the petitioner and beneficiary are legally able to marry.

i am from Indonesia, and my fiance is USC, i m still 20 though, and i am predicting i will face the interview when i am 21, we r still waiting for NOA2 , hopefully soon, thanks to you, i am so glad to know they never use age as a factor, lol

Age can become a factor in two ways.

1. You are too young to marry. Generally if you are over 18 you are fine.

2. There is a large age gap between the petitioner and beneficiary (15 years or more). It may be considered a red flag in some areas and result in closer scrutiny of the case. By itself its not a reason for denial.

How much do they look at the age difference, I am from Canada and my Fiancee is from the US and we have about 17 years difference between us. Is that going to cause a problem?

It does vary, some consulates will look at it more than others due to the rate of fraud that occurs in that country. Again its not a reason for denial in itself, but it may have the consular officer looking more closely at the case. As long as you have nothing else that might be considered a red flag you should be fine.

I am over 18, which is good, and my age gap with my fiance just about 7 and half years, he is 28 now

thanks for the info :)

Hey, don't worry. Canada is not one of those high fraud countries, such as Nigeria - per example. You'll be ok!

i ever read in a website, that was 22 years age difference between them when they do fiance visa, and it was approved, you just need to convince the US embassy interviewer that you guys really love each other when your fiance get to do interview, and everything will be fine :)

My husband is 21 as well, I'm 23, and they never even mentioned age when we went in. :)

when I married my wife she was 16 and I was 25. when she filed for me she was 18. At the visa interview the officer asked me what was her age when we got married. Then he said WOW and looked really shocked , and asked if that was legal. I told him it was legal in Alabama :). few minutes later i was approved for IR-1 visa.

Good luck.
