Hey guys,

I am extremely worried about my 1-30 petition. I sent the petition by USPS priority mail on July 10. Got there July 13. Now Im unsure whether there is a problem or not. And sadly, I cannot call to ask because they have no clue who I am or about my petition. I've read that these NoA 1 can take up to 40 days but most of the timeslines I've seen tend to put to 10 - 14 days. What can I do?

Is there a chance my petition was misplaced? I didn't punch holes at the top so I just papercliped and Binder clipped the entire packet and put it in a Yellow envelope saying Oringal Submission: I-130.

Im going nuts here.

Have they chashed your cheque yet? If the have, on the back you should have been given a WAC (California) or EAC (Vermont) number, that is your case number to which you can use it to track your case on the USCIS website

It can actually take 60 days to receice and NOA-1. When we petitioned, it was not uncommon to wait 60 days for an NOA1 for some people

Yeah, they havent cashed my personal check yet. :( I feel it is taking a tad too long.

If there is a problem they will return it. However, it is possible that even though your package has been received, it hasn't been processed yet. Give it a little more time, keeping checking to see if your cheque has been cashed. Good luck!

Mailroom OPS take some time. Don't sweat this, until 30 days have passed.

You used that g-form thingie - that will be yer first indication of 'something done' - but do keep checking yer bulk/spam email folder, too.

If more than 45 days, then have the 'official freak out' ...

Hang in there, be patient, it's coming..

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

Thanks for that Darnell. I love reading your posts. I'll be definitely waiting. At least I know (i saw another post with the same problem) that I am not alone. What is Mailroom OPS? The dudes who process the applications? It sucks i ran into some slowdown. :(
