Hi there,

I have this situation:

My wife can't meet the requirements as she is my sponsor, so we're having her mom as a joint sponsor. Can she use her husband incomes for helping her to reach the 125% of poverty line, filing a I-864A form for him? I know the main sponsor can use the incomes of his household members to meet the requirements, but I have the doubt if the joint sponsor is able to do the same.

So, can a joint sponsor use the incomes of her household members to meet the requirements?

I really appreciate any help,

Thank you very much

I believe they can yes by completing the I-864A like you said.

So you will need:

- your wife's I-864

- her moms I-864

- her dad's I-864A

- all supporting documents for each such as tax returns for 2009, or letters explaining why taxes weren't filed etc
