I know that most liberals will undoubtedly think that this woman is clinically insane. I know Hugo Chavez and Mahmoud Ahmadinejad are deranged leaders who spew some of the worst vitriol in the media. But to suggest this far reaching conspiracy is a bit much. So, I suppose this thread is more directed at conservatives. Do you believe this conspiracy theory?

I don't have access to YouTube right now and maybe I'm not the only one. But I can view YouTube titles and here is an article on what I think this video is about.

MYRICK: Well the thing that concerns me, and you mentioned this briefly, Iran is working with Venezuela. And they're transiting through Venezuela, taking Spanish for maybe six months. They're getting the false documents that they need, coming up through Mexico and if they're stopped, they just say well I'm Spanish. And it, oh I mean Mexican, and it only takes a smart border agent who knows the difference in the accents. He can tell, but if he doesn't have that, there's no way to know.

And the other thing that we're seeing, and we're seeing it in your state in particular in the prisons is Farsi tattoos. Farsi is basically a Persian language, which Iran is, and we know we've seen Arabic tattoos in our prisons for a long time, but we havent seen Farsi tattoos in a long time. That's a pretty good indication that these people coming across our border are not just coming from Mexico and other countries that are looking for work. And that's what scares me. Being on Intelligence, we know there are people who are are here who do want to do us harm who are already in the country and it's not a matter of will they get in anymore, it's a matter of they're already here because of our lax border laws.

Ah yes, i know the pains of a stringent firewall/internet filter. Lucky for me, mine today is allowing youtube. So to recap, she is saying that Iran and Venezuela are working together. Iran is sending some of it's terrorists to Iran to learn how to speak spanish, learn the mannerisms and customs of hispanic culture for the specific purpose of coming to the U.S. through Mexico to infultrate the U.S.. Because they could camoflauge themselves as hispanics, they would not raise suspision of their plans.

Well, I know that we have a poroous border, so I suppose it is at least within the realm of possibilites, regardless of how hackneyed it is. My point in posting this is that this is an elected official who is spreading this sort of paranoid conspiracy theory as if it were a confirmed fact.

only if they look chinese. chinese are much too racist to recruit agents from other countries. and everybody knows asian women have a special appeal.

seriously, this is happening. it is going on. much of the rest of the world does not like USA, and wants to bring it down. all it takes is a few people with money to start a program like this. border control is aware of the trend, and it is gorwing in the last 5 years. it has been documented many times in recent past.

I heard this rumor that Chavez was offering classes to Middle-Easterners for how to fake a Hispanic accent several years ago. It was before I moved back to the US. I remember discussing it with my Venezuelan friends. They were sure it was true. Me, not so much. I wouldn't put it past Chavez, but it just seems to depend on too many variables to be a viable plan. But, who knows.
