There are 11 million illegals in America. How you gonna arrest 11 million people and jail them for probably months, feed them, clothe them, and then eventually deport them to Mexico. Who's gonna pay for the flights? Or are they going to be marched?

Let's see... 11 million people times $500 one-way ticket to Mexico = 5.5 billion dollars

Less than the annual cost of schooling and health care given to these criminals.

Illegal Immigration Costs U.S. $113 Billion a Year, Study Finds

By Ed Barnes

The cost of harboring illegal immigrants in the United States is a staggering $113 billion a year -- an average of $1,117 for every “native-headed” household in America -- according to a study conducted by the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR).

The study, a copy of which was provided to FoxNews.com, “is the first and most detailed look at the costs of illegal immigration ever done,” says Bob Dane, director of communications at FAIR, a conservative organization that seeks to end almost all immigration to the U.S.

"Credibility in immigration policy can be summed up in one sentence: Those who should get in, get in; those who should be kept out, are kept out; and those who should not be here will be required to leave."

"...for the system to be credible, people actually have to be deported at the end of the process."

US Congresswoman Barbara Jordan (D-TX)

Testimony to the House Immigration Subcommittee, February 24, 1995

In the 1950s, the Eisenhower administration deported 10 million illegals in a program called "Operation Wetback". It has been done and it can be done if the government has the will to do it.

Link? Everything I've seen about this suggests about one million were deported.

Pleeeease, typical lib bullshit rhetoric, considering we pay for them now period. One emergency procedure and that costs up to tens of thousands. Now factor their kids k-12 school fees and free lunches, as well as things like incarceration costs and lost taxes due to under the table wages. How about the tens of billions sent back to Mexico each and every single year? Do you think those things costs money? Clearly a figure that runs well into ~$30 billion and up each and every year.

Absolutely disgraceful that the FED will sue a state for basically protecting itself and taking actions that are absolutely necessary, for a growing problem.

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

Nooone is going to organize the mass deportation of millions of people - won't happen. Not even on the cards.

No need - just make it difficult, if not impossible, for illegals to survive here and they will self-deport.

Sure. I don't think BY believes that though - he needs a big stick and some beatings to be involved in order to feel that something has been done.

Yes, how bloody convenient that now they are here, 'they are too hard to deport'. Basically, a case of deliberately turning a blind eye so something becomes unsolvable without collateral damage, only to then play dumb and claim it's too big to fix. If lib yanks didn't use the same tactic on so many other ideological supported views of theirs, I'd probably have fallen for it. Same deal with oh what a shame their parents brought them here; consequently, the child who is 18 shouldn't have to pay.

Calm down and you might realise that not every problem can be solved by putting people into camps or beating them within an inch of their lives.

No I just don't want to see the country I reside in turn into a UK. After all, look where similar open border [over population] policies has gotten that country. Do you guys rank under 10 in anything anymore? Oh wait, you do - crime rates in Europe. Awesome achievement.

First you insinuate I advocate they round people up, now you claim I when them put into camps and beaten.

Pike, they are breaking immigration law, they're not some violent scumbag murdering criminal that deserves that.

You need to make up your mind about the UK - first you trash the US, citing the UK as an example to emulate; then all of a sudden you're taking a dump on the UK because you don't want the US to emulate it.

How's about coming up with some ideas that aren't impractical and which don't involve maximum violence?

BY, It's always the same with you - it's never enough when people say that illegal immigration is best tackled economically, through enforcing employment law. You always seem to want some display of violent action.

The damage has been done with the UK. Furthermore, while they are now tough on illegals, an open border EU has affected the Q.O.L for Brits. There is no doubt about that.

You are right as you clearly still think it's the United States duty to go to Mexico and fix up their system and policies. You never said that right? Then, how else are you going to fix it economically?

Issuing employers a fine alone [if caught] is the equivalent of saying go win a war using artillery. Artillery is one of many weapons but it cannot win an entire war on its own. But see this is really another strategy, as once this tactic fails, you guys will then conveniently turn around and claim the war on immigration failed. Therefore, lets just open the borders up and be done with it. Like I said, these tactics have been used many times before, so it doesn't take a genius to put two and two together and see what is really the motive behind them. They're basically designed to fail to promote an agenda.

Indeed - BY. It was actually me who told you about you that ;) I expect you've forgotten.

I seem to remember mentioning employment law. Something about removing incentives to come here? Ring a bell?

No agenda BY - it's simply not practical to deport round up and deport millions of people en-masse. No mainstream politician of either political party will advance such an idea - it is political suicide, not to mention it would likely cause civil unrest.

On some level you have to accept that some degree of illegal immigration is here to stay. You don't have to like it - just recognise that you can't solve the problems of the world with guns and big sticks.
