Well - I must say that after almost 2 years in the US....I am very happy to be back in my home town visiting my family. Just me and my hubby....no teenagers to ruin the fun :)

I've had Tim's every morning, eaten Schneider's bologna and hotdogs and really enjoyed shopping at Reitman's (why the heck can't they get some in the US?).

Wish we lived closer to ON...but for now....I'll take 2 more days of vacation before we drive back Weds.

That's great! So glad you're having a good time, and getting some of those things we can't seem to get here...like good ole Timmies! Probably be one of the first things I do when I go back home this fall. And also go to Northern Reflections!! One of my most favourite stores in town!

I really miss Reitmans too. Their clothes always seemed to fit me well, and I have yet to find anything that compares to it here :(

OMG - I went back and bought more...they have a new fit for jeans...got 3 :D And a few more tops....always love their jewelry...not expensive so I don't feel bad if I hate it a year from now.

Yes'm....well - my trip is almost up. Having my brothers and nieces over for din-din tonight....Little Caesar's Pizza...yum! And then the long drive back to VA tomorrow. We're leaving early and hopefully all the traffic will be going the other way :)

I have already started the countdown for heading back to SASK for Cdn Thanksgiving!! I'm having 2-XL timmies a day here in Rhode Island, but they do not quite taste the same

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied,that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

My husband & I just got back from visiting family & friends in the Toronto-area.

When we got there, he says "While in Rome...I want a Tim's coffee".

I said "We live in Michigan, we have Tim's there"

He replied "Yea, but here Tim's is special, every coffee has a lumberjack's tear in it"
