Time to worry yet? AOS taking FOREVERRRRR

Hi,

I see in the immigration timelines that I am not the only one who had their case transferred to California around mid February who is still waiting for a decision.

We applied for AOS in Jan and it was transferred to CA in February. When should we start being "proactive" (whatever that may entail) to find out what is happening?

should we just sit and wait a while longer?

In same boat as you. We're not really caring too much since they have had their EADs and APs for quite a while.

i'm sorta worried since we got no news since a while now, but it's said it could take 4 months so maybe next month.

We got no RFE and I didn't ask for the EAD or AP since I didn't need it. Just waiting and needing a pat on the back I guess...

Process took us 1 year and 5 month from I-129F to Green Card

*09-??-2006* Met online @ world of warcraft

*~3 years later*

*01-??-2009* Relationship started

*03-01-2009* Went to see him 1 week

*03-05-2009* We got engaged

*04-06-2009* Sent I-129F

*04-07-2009* I-129F received at USCIS (California)

*04-09-2009* NOA1 received

*04-17-2009* He came to see me that weekend

*05-30-2009* He came visit me for 1 week

*07-01-2009* Still waiting the Noa2

*07-17-2009* OMG IT GOT TOUCH!! XD

*07-20-2009* Got the Noa2 without trouble!

*08-14-2009* Went to see him 2 week!

*08-18-2009* Got the packet 3!

*09-08-2009* sent Pack 3

*10-27-2009* Packet 4 received!

*11-06-2009* Gone for 1 week to see my baby

*11-20-2009* Medical at medisys + Police certificate

*12-01-2009* INTERVIEW Passed!! success!

*01-08-2010* Big Move ^^

*01-09-2010* Wedding

*02-26-2010* Filling for AoS

*03-10-2010* NOA

*03-30-2010* Biometrics taken

*09-24-2010* AOS Aproval

*I did not request my EAD or AP

*We did not get an interview

Patience! It took me 2 years to recieve an approval! Just be patient, there are literally 1000's of applications that are sent in monthly!

AOS Process

May 29th 2008- AOS/EAD/I-130 Sent to Chicaogo Lock Box sent via Overnight Delivery

June 6th - Both checks cashed!!

June 25th - Biometrics appointment

Sept. 19th - Card Production Ordered! (113 days since filing)

Sept. 25th - EAD Received!!!

Dec. 5th 2008 - Received appointment letter

Feb. 4th 2009 - AOS Interview (Interviewer says going to recommend for approval)

May 15th- called and talked to an officer to submit a service request

June 10th- Made an infopass appointment,

June 15th- Info pass appointment, told me they could do nothing until the officer made their decision!

June 27 - Filed for I-131 as well as renewal of my work authorization.

July 23rd- Received I-131

Dec 22, 2009 - Biometrics appointment yet again.

January 21, 2010 Second interview

January 22nd - I-485 Touched

January 27th - Received a Request for additonal evidence.

May 27 I-485 Approved

June 13th 2010 - Green card received!

my friend is also in the same boat, she and her husband had been waiting for the longest time, i think those who got transferred during february have ther applications slacked on.. Mine was transferred January 19th and i was approved february so I don't understand it either. My friend is getting really sad, she thought they lost her application lol so i bet it would help her when I tell her there are also people waiting

10/24/09 - WEDDING

11/09/09 - AOS

02/25/10-GC approved

08/26/10-319B n400 starts

11-09-10 Interview 10 AM >Approved

11-09-10 oath 2 PM Fairfax, VA

I'm in exactly the same boat as you right down to the COUNTRY!!! We're extremely frustrated because we didn't get his SS# when we had the chance last summer....so the EAD does us zero good....drivers license is negatory as well because of this. They sure don't make this easy!!! It looks like February was a bad month to get transferred....

So did you ever find out why your GC took 2 years?? Unbelievable. :blink:

Nope. No concrete answer. I strongly believe that it got lost on someones desk. But I got my card now and its a 10 year card! So I am ok with it now.

Perhaps we should call the CSC to get the status? Maybe they have more information than what's on the website? Yeah...I agree -- Feb transfer seems to take the longest. Wonder why that is ---not a "first come first serve"? Seems odd.

What does that mean? I'm so worried!

They are probably sending it to your local office. Most likely you will have a interview. At least you know now that it's not collecting dust.

On February 17, 2010, we transferred this case I485 APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS to our CALIFORNIA SERVICE CENTER location for processing and sent you a notice explaining this action. Please follow any instructions provided on the notice. We will notify you by mail when a decision is made. If you move while this case is pending, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address or call our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283.

I think it's an AOS "touch" -- can you confirm?
