Nope, this will be RFE. You won't know what they want until you will receive the actual letter.

Think about what can it be...like taxes, marriage certificate or smth else

Good luck, it will come in a couple days!

As long as you end them EXACTLY what they ask for within the specified time-frame, you'll be fine.

I had an RFE and it really didn't slow us down that much.

my RFE was to prove legal entry into the US. I should mention that I had initially already sent copy of my student visa.

But they still asked for proof of entry so I re-sent copy student visa then added copy of I-94 and copies of all of my I-20s.

Sometimes they misplace things and will ask for it again.

I have also heard of RFEs because people forgot to tick a box or signed on the wrong spot in a form. something silly like that.

Other possible ones are:

missing w-2 or 1099 (tax stuff) for USC main petitioner and/or co-sponsor

missing proof of citizenship for USC main petitioner and/or co-sponsor

insufficient income on i-864

missing info on i-693, or missing i-693 altogether

additional evidence on bonafide marriage

But you won't know for sure until you get the letter.

Hang in there. I hated the wait for the letter to come myself. But it will come soon!

I just sent off our RFE today - hoping it won't slow us down too much more.

Anyway, if you have a lawyer, know that the RFE only goes to the lawyer - not to you! We waited for 2 weeks expecting it to come to us. Urgh.

Our RFE was for 2009 Tax information, we were expecting it but 2009 taxes hadn't been filed when we sent our stuff to USCIS.

JUST GOT MY RFE LETTERS YOU GUYS HELPP

I HAVE NO CLUE WHAT ITS ASKING

post-84100-010226000 1277405639_thumb.jpg

It's asking for:

1 - Your sponsor/joint sponsor's authorization to work in the US. If your sponsor/joint sponsor is an immigrant, they have to prove that they either (a) came in on a visa that authorizes them to work in the states or (b) that they obtained employment authorization afterward (for instance, through AOS).

If your sponsor/joint sponsor is a US Citizen, then send the birth certificate or passport - anything to prove citizenship, which entitles people to work automatically.

2 - the sponsor/joint sponsor's 2009 tax returns.

ETA: 3 - sponsor/joint sponsor's supporting tax documentation, i.e. 2009 w-2s or 1099s.

Who is the sponsor & what is their status? Do you have a joint sponsor?

They lose things. We sent in my husband's i-693 and they requested that again.

You should have sent that for your sponsor (your wife) and for your joint sponsor. If you just sent it for your joint sponsor, they may be asking for it for your wife, although you should have sent that in anyway.
