Hi,

I will have my biometrics appointment this JUne 30 and went to Motor vehicle to ask if they will extend or reissue the driver's license or state ID because it will expire by June 29, a day before my biometrics. I explained to the lady that i got an extension letter because my I-751 or CR-189 is still on process but the motor vehicle lady said that they cannot do it because I need to be approved first before they can issue another one.

Need help, what can i do or bring for my identification? I called a man from USCIS and he told me that the only thing i can do is to do an infopass appointment to ask what identification i can bring.

Thank you.

You can go earlier than June 30 and do a walk-in biometrics. This is when you go before your scheduled appointment. Many service centers allow it. Just go early in the day (around the time they open) and you can also explain to the officer that you are not able to extend your DL until you are approved.

What state do you live in? Some states allow extension of DL if you show your NOA letter that has the 1 year extension.

hope my suggestion helps.

I was able to extend my driver's license just by showing the expiring green card and the NOA1 extension letter. I went to the motor vehicles office on 59th and Bell in Glendale, AZ (a suburb of Phoenix).

I think the OP meant he doesn't know what form of identification to bring to the biometrics appointment if his DL will be expired by then.
