Question: No clue how to file for a w-4

I started a new job (first job) on June first and wasn't sure how to fill out my W-4 tax form, has anyone had any experience with this because I can't obviously put single, does filing single mean you are putting single I don't really understand, I had posted a question on a Tax forum and they didn't help at all basically said file single, they said I couldn't file jointly? I have no clue. Anyways I know this isn't an immigration question, but it will come up in our situation eventually regarding bonafides I'm sure and I don't want any problems. If anyone can offer any advice or has done this before lemme know~!

The W-4 has no direct correlation to your actual filing status come next year.

All single on the W-4 means is that they will withhold taxes at a higher rate than if you indicate married. If you do file married jointly (which BTW you can), then you will probably get a refund.

yea I thought it was wierd if I wouldn't be able to file as married and jointly, I ended up calling irs to ask them a few questions also wish I had thought of it before and now I feel more confident about it. Thanks =)
