Me and my wife are about to have our green card interview in two weeks

I would like some advise on what type of questions i can expect and if there's any pointers.

please let us know.

Hi, so the interview is comin up huh, fun stuff wink.gif you guys can check out this link :

www.visajourney.com/reviews/ , they have interview experiences there that would really really help you to prepare.

But basically most questions they ask are about the relationship, hopefully you'll have the Immigration Officer who is friendly, nice, smiley away from meanness yes.gif

Here are some questions that i still remember from my interview :

- What do you have for me? (handed her bag full of documents, she just slightly looked at them and pulled my husband's letter of employment and his paystubs, thats all she wanted :)

- How did you guys meet?

- Where was the wedding and who was there? (gave her photo album filled with pictures and she was really enjoying look at our pictures)

- Where did you go for the honeymoon?

- No baby yet, huh? :)

Really, our IO was super duper nice..she smiled the entire interview and that was it, hope your interview would go as smooth as ours ( oh it will, i'll say a prayer for you guys ).

Im sure some peeps will come along to share their experience as well, no worry needed as long as you guys dont fake the marriage biggrin.gif Best luck!

Oct 2005 - met my baby

Dec 2006 - he proposed

Feb 2007 - K-1 filed

Dec 2007 - K-1 Visa Interview (denied), the reason: i was overstayed my previous visit in 2000-2003 (my bad)

Feb 2008 - I-601 Waiver filed

Sept 2008 - Waiver approved (K-1 Visa issued)

Jan 2009 - the Wedding Blessing & Reception (Bali, Indonesia)

Feb 2009 - Arrived in the US followed by the Civil Wedding & Reception (again:)

March 2009 - AOS filed

April 2009 - Biometric

May 2009 - EAD card in hand

Aug 27th 2009 - AOS Interview (approved, yaay)

Sept 2009- Green Card arrived in the mail...yippeeeew...(i want to sing of Your Love forever)

June 2011 - ROC filed

July 2011 - Biometric

Dec 2011 - ROC approved (Best Christmas ever, i must've been a really good girl this year :)

The wait would be unbearable but it'll be worth it. It strengthens the love, it attaches you even more to each other, it shows how your man would do whatever it takes to be with you, that he will never give up on you because he LOVES you!! All the waits, stresses, tears, heartaches, all the miserable feelings you feel along the way will be paid off once you get what you've been hoping for...oh and WITHOUT PRAYERS? will be like trying to start a fire with water, JUST WON'T WORK!

Only questions you do not have to prepare for if you are "really" married and live together. There will be no trick questions at a regular AOS interview. You don't need to know what color toothbrush your wife uses or what her shoe size is. But you should know is she drinks coffee or tea, or if she has 1 sister or 8.

Like JustBob said, there are no tricky questions, there will be questions that you should have an answer for if you have a legit marriage. Here are some questions that the IO addressed to us:

-How did you arrive in US?what visa/program?

-Have you ever been a member of the Communist party? (now that was funny!!)

-How did you guys meet? (question for my husband, who is the US citizen)

-What do you currently do (addressed to both of us)?

-Show me proofs of your marriage.

It was that simple. Make sure you don't forget your address and your spouse birthday! :star: I didn't get those questions but some people did.

My N-400 Journey

06-02-2017 - N-400 package mailed to Dallas Lockbox

06-06-2017 - Credit card charged; received text and email confirming that application was received and NOA is on its way

06-10-2017 - Received NOA letter from NBC dated 06-05-2017

06-16-2017 - Received Biometrics Appointment Letter for 06-28-2017

01-19-2018 - Interview Letter sent

02-27-18 - Interview and Oath Ceremony. Finally US CITIZEN! 

My ROC Journey

03-08-2012 - I-751 package mailed to VSC

03-10-2012 - I-751 package delivered

03-14-2012 - Check cashed

03-15-2012 - NOA received, dated 03-12-2012

04-27-2012 - Biometrics appointment

11-23-2012 - ROC approved

11-28-2012 - Approval letter received

12-06-2012 - 10 years Green Card received

My AOS Journey

04-17-09 I-130&I-485&I-765 received by USCIS

04-19-10 AOS Approved

04-29-10 Green Card received
