Question 32:

In what Occupation do you intend to work in the United States?

My honey is is a pharmacist who works in regulatory affairs, she is worried that if her occupation has anything to do with the medical field that they may be concerned about additional certification or schollong may be needed before she can pursue her career. She feels this may hurt her chances for approval. Does anyone have any helpful advice or words of encouragement that will allow her to mail her DS-230 Part 1 back today without worry??

I am coming to the realization that she worries about the details even more than I do, and that is scary. :help::lol:(L)(F)

thanks again

The beneficiarys future job prospects have no bearing on visa approval. They will be concerned with the petitioners job and ability to meet the poverty guidelines only.

Tell her to chill out a little - she is way overthinking this.

Unless she put something in there that would indicate she is planning on working in a field requiring high level security clearance which could throw up a flag. If she wanted to write in medical field or pharma industry I would see no issues. I would advise against writing something like biological germ warfare technician though

Remember, before she can work she needs to come here, get married, file for AOS and EAD which should be her (and your) primary focus.

A high majority of people just write in unknown, remember too that these forms are used for a varity of immigration visas and in some cases the answer to the question is much more pertinent than for K-1 visa.

Good Luck!

We put down like what is listed on the Example Forms. Stop worrying.

thanks for the replies so far. My honey will be reading this when she wakes up. I love her with all my heart and we are getting close to making our dream come true. I just wish she would trust me a little bit (she trusts you guys more I guess (poor Alan))when i say it isn't that big of a deal and that they are much more concerned about us having a real bonafied relationship and not what she will be doing for work.

I think about 10 more replies might do the trick

(I love you honey)
