Hi everyone at visa journey. I am planning on filing direct consular filing and had a question about the sponsoring. We were planning on living in egypt our first year of marriage and then returning to the states thru direct consular filing and living with my mom until we can both get jobs and an apartment. My mom plans to help me to sponsor him and i was wondering can we file joint since i will be living with her in the states or must i file with her as a co sponsor since we both will be living in egypt at time of filing?

Thanks alot. I am wondering, if my household size is too big for co sponsoring can i move back with my mom after approved for I-130 and file ds-230 in the states? then i would be able to file joint. and we would qualify.

I don't understand how/ why the number of household members would change when you move back?

right now it stand i think she barely qualifies. If something happened and i got pregnant i would not qualify. There was a question above. Can i return to usa after i filed for I-130 and file rest of papers here so that i can include my income in the amount through joint.

If I can ask, what income do you have? Do you have a job in the US?

YMMV
