Getting upset over drawings of Mohammed = stupid.

Inciting violence over it = unacceptable. I think it's a loud minority though, but it makes the most exciting news.

Although I agree with you, I am really offended by the thought that someones morality being imposed upon me and what I can read or watch. If they don't want to see images of Mohammed, don't watch, don't read the material. It may be sacreligious to you, but it is not to me.

The cartoons aren't funny. I really made a point to see them all. They're not hugely *gasps* offensive in and out of themselves. But the reactions are funny sometimes but not when you know people get hurt/killed. Then it's sad.

No, you missed my point. I am offended when their self-righteous indignation narrows my choices of what to read or watch. Furthermore, after the whole Dutch cartoon situation, everyone where I work had to go to a "sensitivity seminar" to discuss this #######. So yeah, ** THAT!!!1

But in all seriousness it doesn't matter if someone is enlightened or not, if they believe in something strongly and revere it, they are going to be offended and pissed off no matter what. Like wouldn't you be mad if your mother was being gangraped regardless of not having a PhD degree or not? You would. (I know a nasty and extreme example.)

Your 3rd option is impossible to achieve overnight, if achieveable at all, and as such it's not really a solution or option. Just because you don't get offended doesn't mean everyone else will also not get offended. People can block facebook, protest, holler, scream all the want. It's not a problem. It's only a problem when someone gets hurt. Then the culprit should be charged and tried and prosecuted. Etc, etc, etc.

You'd call people in America enlightened and who don't get offended no matter what. But they do get offended when you do something they think is offensive like maybe build a mosque near Ground Zero in NYC. There's much commotion about that going on. Yeah. Although the simple act of building a mosque anywhere and worshipping is not offensive at all.
