That little black box with a white plus won't go away. What is it and how do I get rid of it?

Thank you for helping out the technologically challenged!!

I believe it means you've typed more information that can be shown on in that particular field. Usually this means you'll need to shorten your answer, abbreviate or continue the answer on a separate sheet of paper.

That would make sense. However, when it printed off, it shows all of what I typed plus the black box with the white plus. =/

I doubt I would get an RFE for it, right?

In Acrobat Reader, go the "Edit" menu and select "Preferences". This will open the Preferences dialog box.

In the "Categories" pane on the left, look for the field labeled "Forms" and click on it. On the right side, in the box labeled "General", find the check box marked "Show text field overflow indicator" and turn it off (unchecked). Click on "Ok".

The forms will no longer display with the black box, nor will the black box be printed on forms you send to the printer. This won't make it possible to fit more into the box than you currently can, and some text may be clipped, but you won't see the black box anymore.
