carry a marriage certificate, show it to anyone at the airport.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

Try to call Delta again and explain your situation. Delta should have a work around on your problem. If the person on the phone wont do it, ask for the manager.

I had the same case. Philippines Consulate screwed up with my passport renewal and just returned my old passport so i could continue with my travel to the Philippines. I just called Hawaiian Airlines, explained my situation and they changed the name on my ticket immediately without additional charges.

probably you didnt have a chance to change your passport at your married name? sometimes you'll encounter problems at security. they are strict, we all know its you. but if i were a security and found out that the name on the passport doesnt correspond to the ticket, there will be no boarding. safety precaution.

what about coming back? if your green card has a different name with your passport, you have to justify everything with the immigration officer. they might question this.

all im saying, why you did not change your passport under your married name?

Best advice I can give. If you booked the ticket less than 24 hours, cancel the ticket to avoid fees, then re-purchase under the name of what you want. Or cancel the ticket, pay fees. Then re-purchase the ticket. Sorry it was happening to you, and its only almost 1 week left. I hope you get through this...Goodluck my friend!

I didnt have time to change it... and I didnt know that it would matter if my passport and ticket have diff last names coz i assumed they would know it is still me...I also called the consulate before and they said it will take them more than a month to ammend my passport so I thought I would do it when I get back...

I called Delta and the rep said he will make a notation on their system.. I dont know if that will work..

Anyone had the same experience as mine who made it without any problems at the airport????

Get a new passport under your married name, its not that hard and takes a few weeks for the new one to come in. You will get to keep the old one (with holes punched in it) I suggest bringing both

Talk about old... this thread is from early 2010!!

And why in the world would you advise someone to carry around an expired passport? It's not valid for anything except being a keepsake.

Actually they don't punch a hole in the old passport anymore. They stamped cancelled on the BIO page.

 ... reviving the dead are we?!!
