NVC May 2010 Edition!

They didn't really give us one. The CO was a real witch. The 221 said he was marrying me just for the visa (not in those words exactly).

She even asked him how much HE paid me to bring him here!

The age difference is what she kept commenting on and she told him he was too young and handsome to be with me.

I guess we should have reported her because the interview was NOT a fair one. But he is not as outspoken as I am and didn't really know what to do or say to her accusations.

We had no problems that time or this time going thru the process here in the US, it was all the CO. I realize now that we made a mistake by my not being there. And I had only visited once because I had a new job and really couldn't.

I have 2 more long visits now (one almost 2 months and one 3 weeks) and I will be with him at this interview. And we have about 3000 pics. I have printed so many pages of evidence I think my printer should die any day now... LOL! (I mean we talk at least 2 hours every day online and on the phone and send about 50-60 texts back and forth each day!)

We are so in love and can't wait to be together!

That really was callous, even more than that. I would have reported her. She doesn't deserve her job at all. I'm sure that this time you'll go through with flying colors Ally. You probably won't even need 1% of the evidence you bring!

NVC just recieve our RFE at yesterday and we got SIF today, is really amazing!

I think embassy will send you letter to submit documents to VFS....

"Sachinky" Do we need to call VFS to ask for the what documents to be submitted?

We will be submitting papers to Jalandhar VFS.

Me - Waiting for DS230 and all civil documents from other half... mailed on 5/17/2010.

My packet from the Consulate was pretty outdated. All it told me was to submit my documents to the local VFS 10-15 days prior to the interview since I am from Calcutta. I'd suggest calling VFS and getting a list of documents required for submission. Each VFS office has their own quirks. https://www.vfs-usa.co.in/USIndia/index.html

Locate your regional office and ask them directly. Also, stress that you are applying for the CR-1.

No, no, I was being dead serious. It is often asked for (don't ask me why) and VFS recommends that you carry it as well.

I called today and I was told that they are reviewing my mom's DS-230!! Hopefully, we will have an answer by the end of this week. Good luck everyone who is still waiting!

I called up NVC just now and they told me that my case is currently in the "review department" and to call back on the 25th of May or the week after to find out if it has been completed. The operator told me once again to give it 2-3 weeks for review. What I really wanted to know, is if the case has been assigned to a person to be reviewed. I remember one of the posts by a VJer, that wrote that when they called up NVC, the operator specifically told them that the case was assigned to a reviewer. How relieving it would be to know that at least someone is reviewing the documents.

I was told that they were reviewing the case, so I took that to mean that someone was actually poring over it.

In terms of the timeline, I think they have to say that it takes them between 2-4 weeks to complete the review.

I think that it takes much less. At least, on here, people have gotten CC within about 2 weeks after they sent their DS-230 in. Especially if your ds-230 file is complete, I would imagine that it makes it easier to be reviewed.
