My wife and I met with my lawyer to finally file for spouse petition about six weeks ago, 355 fee was paid and all we had to do is wait for some type of notice. Well, it has been six weeks and we are still waiting... It is normal? Should I contact my lawyer?

I will appreciate some advice from anyone that went through this...

PS: Application sent to California Center according my lawyer...

ya, 6 weeks is on the edge of 'being outside the window'

If you are using a lawyer, you should inquire with the lawyer, ask him for the 'receipt notice, NOA-1, formletter I-797-C'

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

I think as you have used a lawyer........a lawyer is representing your case with USCIS. so my guess is your lawyer must have received NOA 1. Just ask him once.

You really should call yer lawyer and inquire. Seriously. 'where's the noa-1 notice, that I-797-C formletter?'

I'd also ask for the tracking # that he used for yer packet, and look it up online, see exactly when it arrived at USCIS. Something smells, to me, about this.
