Hey!!

Del went and picked up his medical results yesterday for us to take with us to Rio on Friday (his interview is on Monday).

The doctor opened the x-ray envelope (presumably so that he could look at the x-ray and then write the results on the official medical papers). After he wrote the results on the papers (with all the other results of the exam) he sealed a small envelope with the results. This envelope is sealed perfectly and the doctor told Del that this was the envelope he needs to give to the consulate at interview.

However, the x-ray envelope is still open and not sealed. Is this okay?

Do we have to bring the x-ray envelope to the interview in Rio?? Do we have to bring it to the POE? And if yes to any of those questions, does it have to be sealed???

If so, I need to know ASAP because Del will need to go back to the doctor on Thursday (tomorrow is a holiday here) and get it officially resealed. The doctor is the one that opened it, so I assume it's okay, but I don't remember reading before about the x-ray envelope being opened.

Thanks!

It is fine... X-ray results are recorded in the medical exam form... consulate does not need the x-ray... no one there is competant to read it anyway

YMMV

That was I was thinking, but I just wanted to be 100% positive!! Thanks! :)

Do we need to bring the x-ray for the POE or can we just throw it away or do whatever with it? I just don't remember having it ever before for my K-1 and I do remember people mentioning bringing it to the US...so what's the deal?

Thanks as always! :)

My doctor told me it wasn't required for the interview (since the results are in the sealed medical report anyway) -- but I plan to carry it anyway.

I'm not sure about POE.

Oh, I'm definitely not bringing it to the interview. It's HUGE and you can't bring any bags (other than small purses or whatever) into the consulate so why carry the giant x-ray if you don't need it? It's really huge.

As said above, the guys at the consulate won't even know how it read it. If others who have already gone through the interview say you don't need to bring it, you don't need to bring it.

Although I guess we both need to know if we need it for the POE!

Great. It'll be at the BOTTOM of the suitcase I guess!

So what do we actually use this thing for anyway? Now that the results are written down do we need the actual x-ray at some point down the line?

Thanks for the infor!! So glad we don't have to carry it on the bus to Rio!

Since you're DCF and won't be filing an AOS once you're state-side, probably not. If you were filing an AOS, I'd say keep it for the American civil surgeon, in case they wanted to see it.
