There's really no way to estimate the approval timeframe.

03/27/2009: Engaged in Ithaca, New York.

Yeah, there's no standard timeframe.....expect 4-5 months and be very happy if you get it sooner.. :wacko:

Hello Johnny.I'm waiting for my fiancee to send me her documents and photos so I can file for the K-1 visa. This Friday she will go to the Fedex to mail it. My question is, did you do the forms yourself or did you have assistance. So far I'm following the info here for the K-1 visa. My future wife is Filipina.

It seems to happen in waves.. 4 months is the "standard" but then all of a sudden a few people get caught with their immigration pants down and it happens in 30-40 days. There is no real way to guage what it will be. Expect a long wait, but prepare yourself early incase its a short one..

Ours took 76 days - some that filed after us ie NOA1 got approved before us. I think the record thus far on VJ is 9 days and I believe it was Malrothien....I may have errored in the spelling. There are so many variables, many of which we know nothing about. Try not to apply logic because if falls away pretty fast. It's a process. I know when you get the paperwork from USICS it says that petitions are approved in the order they are received but that's probably unlikely.

I want to add that we were applying for a CR1 visa and the I 130 petition, not the K1 and I 129 as in your case.
