We went through all the procedures after fiance' arrived on K-1 Visa in July 2008. We married in August, and sent in everything for AOS in September 2008. All within the 90 days. We did everything by the book and on time in September 2008. We were notified the case was sent to CA in October 2nd, 2008 saying it was tranferred there to be processed faster. In December 2008 we got another notice of transfer back to the MO office because they had juristiction in the case. I checked the status many times since then online, and it always says it is being "reviewed".

Now it is April 2010 and we still have no interview. What do we do? I called there already, and they won't give me any information, not even where my field office is. Is this normal to take this long? We haven't recieved any information, and the case should be in Philadelphia, PA since we live closest to there, not MO.

Does anyone else have problems like these? what should we do next? we are struggling with this economy and can't afford a lawyer.

Have you considered contacting your senator's office to assist you? Perhaps they can get them to dig it up and get it completed.

That sounds just like my story! My case was transfered as well to "speed things up" and then nothing ever happened.

I ended up contacting my congressman and had them inquire on my behalf. I had my AOS approved and greencard in hand within about 5 weeks. I'd strongly recommend contacting your congressman, explain the situation and ask for assistance.

Mine had a website with contactinformation, so I called and they explained me what I had to do and it was all a breeze from there.

Thank You so much. I will have to contact my congressman. I am concerned about the "conditional greencard". When you apply for the the conditions to be dropped, what do they want to see? Will my financial status be considered all over again? This economy is killing us here. In fact last year I went below the approved amount, but this year I am ok I think.

For removal of conditions no affidavit of support is needed. All you need is evidence of financial mingling of assets (Tax returns, bank accounts, mortgage/lease in joint names, insurance...)

google - 'contact your representative' to find who is your congressman/senator and have them look into the case for you.

Is there any way I would be able to see how you wrote you letter to the congressman? Who do I contact, State senator? I appreciate your help, I am so confused on what to do. I looked up my congressmen, but I'm not sure who to contact? Should I be looking for the most local to my district? How did you know which one to contact where you are from?
