Hey everybody ,

I filed to get my green card based on marriage , I e- filed the 19th of March and sent all supporting documentation afterwards. The USCIS received my packet the following tuesday, the 23rd . It is April 5th and still my money is all in my bank account. Is there anybody else going through the same thing? If so how long has it been for you? Thanks in advance for all input.

We sent ours March 23rd and it arrived in Chicago Lockbox March 25th. Got acceptance emails and texts on April 2nd. Received hard copies of NOA1 April 5th. So far, as of now, that is all what we got and the last time we heard from USCIS. Our was sent the 23rd of March and yours was the 19th, so yours must be on the way I assume. We paid through money order. I will check money gram rightnow if they already cashed the money out or not. The reason why I haven't checked yet was because on the NOA1 hard copy for the I-485, the total amount which is $1010 is already there so I assume that they already cashed it out but I might be wrong too.

Keep praying...

Well a lawyer did all of this for me. She told me she was going to e-file and then send a packet to chicago. She said she sent everything Friday , the 19th. I know she filed the i 130 , i 485, i 864 , i 765, i 693 ( civil surgeon letter) and the g 2 something( my guess , it is information about me and my spouse). She asked me to write just one check of $2,365. Should I be worried that I haven't received anything from USCIS?

Sounds like you may have seriously overpaid. USCIS mercifully won't cash your check if you pay too much.

yeah wow, thats a huge over payment. You should have been paying $1010 for the AOS, EAD, AP paperwork and then the cost of the I-130 which is $355, a total of $1365. If all the paperwork was to be sent back to your lawyer instead of directly to you I would be checking in to see if the package was returned for the wrong payment.

Unless that check was payable to the lawyer, and the lawyer's fee for filling out the information was $1000. In which case the OP got totally ripped off by a lawyer but didn't necessarily overpay USCIS.

Kind of sounds like the lawyer ripped off the OP from what I read too.. which is unfortunate.

I would call your lawyer and see what is going on, if they actually did send the paperwork. Maybe even go in and ask to see proof of the work they did.

Guys , I didn't overpay and the check can only be cashed by USCIS. The reason why I'm paying a thousand dollars more is because I needed to fill out I 485a which is a supplemental form for people under the law 245i. I paid the lawyers fees seperately. I just want to know if there's anyone out who is going through what I'm going through or went through this , where the uscis has not cashed their checks after 10 to 12 days?
