Question Alla, did you mail the I-130 and the I-485 together in one huge package? Also I know this sounds silly but I want to use priority mail or certified mail. What addy did you use for your priority, being they have to sign I figured it would have to go to the courier address. Just wanna make sure.

It's ok to send through usps. They are very responsible for immigration materials.

I also sent by usps got there safely and properly. It's totally up to you. If it makes you comfortable, then go ahead use fedex or ups. That's totally fine.

I mailed I-130 together with I-485 but separated them by folders and marked on the front.

I did also priority mail with signature confirmation.

The process through K visas and if a person already in US is very different and time lines will vary a lot. And also I never visit forum for fiancees This one is my "home"

One more question.. I feel like a moron in all this paperwork!

I was reading over my I-485 and it states do not file this if your authorized stay has expired. His visa is now expired, so what do I do, just the I-130 or do these to compliment each other? He had a 2 year visa because at the time he was working as the personal barber to the King Abdullah of Saudia Arabia, and Fahd before he died. He did alot of traveling. Anyway, bottom line it expired. I want to make sure I file the correct way. THANK YOU GUYS SOOOOO MUCH! We really can't afford an attorney.

I think you should consult an attorney because I read the same thing. But i have been hearing that overstays are forgiven if they are an immediate realtive so I really dont know.

Looks like I will send everything out week of April 19th. He has an appointment with the civil surgeon on the 16th. I will have everything else ready by then.

choongchoong is right.

But I filled out the first part of I-693 myself (about names and country and DOB) because a lot of doctors make mistakes/misspell especially if your name is complicated. Otherwise ask them to show you the form first to check.

Instructions from USCIS to the Civil Surgeon

"After the medical examination is completed, the civil surgeon must give you the original and completed Form I-693 in a sealed envelope. Do not open the envelope.
