SUPER AMAZING!!!!!

I have NEVER been this stressed in MY LIFE... My husband calls me obessed with visajourney  (maybe I am lol). I just feel off; physical, spiritually, mentally I just feel not like my usual self. I took for granted being a born Canadian... I never once thought about or really understand the immigration process. NEVER AGAIN WILL I DO THAT!!!!

Me too!! I would have drove my husband batty.

It will be your turn soon. You wait, sooner than you think this will all be behind us (for atleast 2 yrs).

thanks krys and nova! thanks for the encouragement :)

Do you think they'll still send you a EAD card if your interview comes first?

And how does it work again? EAD is good for a year. And would they send you a renewal card before the one year expires?

Awesome!!! I will go to Mt Laurel in three weeks. I have been in the building before for an infopass. I guess you proceed to right side of the building after you past the security and give your interview letter to one of the windows also on the right. How long did they make you wait before the actual interivew? Woooowww, I hope I too get an easy going IO. Anything you can tell me I should be aware about? Anything to watch? Thanks

Yup, I had never been to the office before and even my IO was confused as to why I wasn't sent to Newark. My appointment was at 1:15, we got there at 12:40-ish, went through security, handed in the letter and sat down. Don't know how long we waited (I was amused by the flat screen watching CNN) but we were out by 2PM.

There was one IO that came out to called a couple, who had their own translator with them, and she hastily told them to sit back down and that she would get her own translator. My IO wasn't particulary "nice", per se, but really straightforward, no-nonsense kind of a guy. Laughed at me for bringing my chest xray, but what can I say, I wanted to be prepared.

My IO said that even though my EAD wasn't in production at approval, they are different offices. So if it happens that they proceed to approve/produce the EAD without checking to see if they i-485 was approved they might end up mailing it anyway. (You're instructed to "destroy" it at that point...)

did you apply for advanced parole and get approved? if yes, then u can fly

but just EAD you cannot fly because they dont necessarily have to let you back into the United States.

personally I would not risk flying until I have my greencard.

It make sense if you live south of I-195, you would go to Mt Laurel, to Newark if you live in central Jersey. Happy for you that eveerything went smoothly.

I'm scheduled in Manhattan... The Federal building. Don't let your mind start going crazy. I think it's more the fingerprints, maybe your country of origin is taking their time looking for your fingerprint information. Let's blame it on them :devil: . Your letter will come soon, you wait and see.

What part of the US are you in? Is there anything special about your case that you can think of?

Actually I'm in Guam which is a US territory. There is no special about my case, I came in K1 visa, got married within 90 days and submitted my AOS application on time. My notice was just a week late because of our location but they are dated in a timely manner. I haven't receive any emails from them except for my application acceptance. I didn't have RFE's so this really frustrate me. :crying:

One would hope that doing biometrics early would give you a step ahead; on the other hand, one who did their biometrics on time (like us, we were denied early biometrics) would hope that after their scheduled appointment, things would go quickly. However, neither is a guarantee. I think that while we are all happy for eachother, jealousy is a normal emotion. I also think that trying to find reasons why one case might differ from another, or a reason for letters to be "late" is a dangerous path to follow. I look at my husband's case; we have had no RFE's... we did everything by the book... no expired visa or anything, and we still have no movement. People who filed after us AND had RFEs are getting more action. And yeah, I think it is natural to be frustrated. On the other hand, think about Alla, she filed at the beginning of the month and she has no letter. THAT'S got to be a much worse feeling. Although I struggle to follow my own advice, I think we should be patient and trust that things are moving normally, and that it will be over soon.

And I really hope for Alla's sake that her case doesn't become the one by which we make ourselves feel better about our own. Here's to you getting your letter before us Alla!

Yeah I guess that's the best thing to do. I was looking on your timeline and I'm a day ahead of you on NOA and receipt date.

It's a possibility...

I dont think they do background checks in home countries on a routine basis.

Oh yes they do... They run finger, run your name through tons of list to make sure you have never been in the system before. If they get a hit on your name, they have to investigate. If the hit is in a country that is not fully computerized, the verification process gets slowed down. I read this on the internet somewhere... I'll try and find the link and post it here.
