The application for my husband was approved on 3/17/10  , but unfortunately I have yet to receive notification that the application is there or is there some form of hold up. It's been 2 weeks, but I saw something you have to wait 3 weeks before inquiring....is anyone else waiting, STILL! after the approval?

I'm sorry, my I-130 was approved on 3/17/10. The last letter I received was the approval notification, but nothing from the NVC. Is it too early to call to verify if they have received it and found out what the next step is?

Call the AVR. Follow the prompts.

What is the AVR? I'm sorry, I am clueless!! :bonk:

Not too early.

Call this number. 603-334-0700.

Might be busy. Keep trying. Get through to the AVR. You will need your CIS receipt or NOA1 number. Type it in, it will read out your case number.

Then talk to an operator and give them your and your spouse's email address.

Join the April 2010 NVC thread, ya?

AVR is NVC's automated voice response system. You can use it 24/7 to access status of your file or you can speak to a live person ( best to call later at night when the operators are not so busy.) Check out the NVC shortcut guide, it will be invaluable to you.

http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/LingChe_NVC_ShortCut

The NVC # is : (603) 334-0700

Without doubt you will have it memorized by the end of this ordeal :) Good luck.

Pay attention, non-EP NVC noobs. Here's Christeen's time tested formula to get you through NVC in one piece alive:

Petitioner: Get NVC # + give operator your email IDs + receive AOS fee bill + pay 70$ online + wait to show paid + print cover sheet + send I-864 AOS with all documents and case # written on each page.

Beneficiary: Get NVC# + receive DS3032 + send DS3032+ DS3032 accepted + IV fee bill available to be paid + pay & wait to show paid + print IV cover sheet + mail DS230 package with all original/certified documents

= wait for case complete + wait for interview to be scheduled.

Suggestions:

1) Have the beneficiary mail SIGNED extra DS230s to you so that you have them handy in case something goes wrong. Or you get hit by a dreaded RFE.

2) If you just received your NOA2, THIS is the time to get your tax stuff and police certificates sorted out. Don't waste time on this.

3) Double check the PCC requirements in the regional forums as they are country specific.

4) Check the pinned STUPID RFEs thread in IR-1/CR-1 forum.

Currently the # of business days NVC is taking:

3-4 days for NVC to receive your case and assign a case #.

3-4 days to receive emailed links after case # has been assigned and email addresses been given to NVC operator.

1-2 days for the AOS bill to show as PAID.

1-3 days for DS3032 to be accepted.

1-2 days for IV bill to be PAID.

8-11 days for case complete after all your documents have been sent in.

you have to keep calling the NVC follow the prompts. Press 2 for not a Haiti related issue . Then press 1 for English then press 1 again to get info on your immigrant visa, then press 1 again to put in the CIS #. If your case file is at the NVC, they would have assigned you a case #. Follow the AVR with the prompts. I understand that the NVC phone # is busy but you have to keep trying to get through. The number is 603-334-0700. To follow up with your case and what documentation is needed you need to keep calling the NVC.

I would also suggest (as sachinky posted) that you join the April thread. I found that hooking up with others going through the process at the same stage was a great source of support. In addition, check out the regional forums to stay updated on any "country specific" information that might apply to you.

Best wishes for a speedy journey.

Your not the only one, I got my approved NOA2 on March 4, 2010. It will be almost 1 month and NVC still hasn't received my approved petition. I've called almost everyday this week and last week and they keep telling me to wait and that it could take up to 90 days (I'm praying it doesn't). Then one of the operators told me to e-mail nvcresearch@state.gov, so i did, I got an e-mail saying that they will contact CIS regarding my petition. I called CIS and they took down my information and said they will look into the matter and I should be getting a letter within 7 to 10 days from CIS on what the status is. From what the lady at CIS told me it just depends on which "batch" of petitions went out first. So mine is just taking longer and i'm getting really frustrated coz it should of only taken a few days to get to NVC, now its been almost 1 month.

When CIS tells you that your petition has been sent to NVC, does CIS keep a copy of it also for themselves? I was just wondering because when I looked at my status on the USCIS website, it said it was mailed out on March 4, but on March 5 and March 8 it was touched? So Im wondering if they even really mailed it out because according to their website it was "updated" last on March 8, when they said it was mailed out on March 4. CONFUSED???
