Yes, I will have my FIL's stuff as backup. I just am wary of changing joint sponsors at the last minute. I have no idea what the repercussions would be if that were to happen. Would they automatically throw me into AP? Would they not accept it then and ask me to submit it through VFS? Would they review it right then and there?

I honestly have no idea what happens in a situation like this.

I have a question. My husband is filling up a new I-864 according to the two jobs that is now working that will be submitted for the interview. His projected current annual individual income is $21,620. We can also show assets about $4000. Do we still need to worry about the joint sponsor 'cause my cousin is being absolutely uncooperative so far.

Sachinky - just to be on the safe side you should try to find a second co-sponsor. If you do have a new co-sponsor, would this delay and/or complicate your interview?

Sachi, if you make an statement saying that your cousin is having trouble with the tax papers and send it along with your FIL papers to the VFS?

At least you can prevent some AP time.

Since your consulate asks all the papers before the interview, I think this could be your best shot.

Tatyana--I really, really hope you get a May interview. To get that, you'd have to have a case complete by April 9th, which is a few days off from the current timeframe (8-9 days). You'd have to be done in 7 days from when NVC received your RFE response. Which is NOT impossible and can very well happen, and I've seen a few RFEs being processed in 5-6 days but I wouldn't set my heart on it if I were you. Mentally prepare for a June interview, and if you get a May date, then, hey! that'd be great!

Oh no, I really want Hubby to have a May one & will be paying for that. But yes, hope they open my RFE soon & complete all the paperwork.

Hi Raj, hope to follow right behind you! My wife (in Bangalore) will also be interviewing from Chennai. I hope you get your interview in late April/early May! Any idea as to how busy the Chennai consulate is? Do you plan on being there for your wife's interview?

Hope to get an Early May Interview....As per their earlier schedules, I think they are scheduling interviews exactly/around the 1 month's time.....I wish they follow the same principle.....BTW I am the beneficiary.....

That way the CO has some time to review the papers before the interview and hopefully, there will be no last minute hiccups.

Hey guys I have a quick question the AVR says that NVC has reviewd and found some missing documents,I called couple weeks ago and the operator told that I need to send the DS-230.. NVC has received my DS-230 on March 29 at 9:30am.. as of today it still says they havent received my DS-230.

How long does it take NVC to update ???

Sachi, I think you should write a letter saying that your cousin is having problems filling his taxes. I wouldn't say he is unwilling to send personal info. That could raise a red flag over nothing.

Just say you couldn't get his 2009 tax returns yet, so to be on the safe side your FIL sent you his AOS papers to help you guys out in case you need it.

And yes, send it to VFS definitely!!!! At least they will have some time to review it before the interview.

Then, maybe since they already looked at your stuff (otherwise, how would they know to request the waiver from you) it will only be a day or two for them to check over it. So Friday maybe. Yay!
