As you know, many countries are in Haiti helping out, after the tragic earthquake. At their camps, they are flying their flags. Only one country isn't and it's the one that has done more to help Haiti — and the world — than any place else in the history of histories.

Of course that's us.

According to the Army Times, vets and servicemembers are ticked. They realize that the U.S. should be proud to fly the flag — anywhere, for that matter. After all, the U.S. is filled with good people with big hearts and generous resources.

It's not like we're Belgium.

But, according to the Obama administration, raising the flag will make us look bad. The U.S. government's Haiti Joint Information Center, says: "We are not here as an occupation force, but as an international partner committed to supporting the government of Haiti on the road to recovery."

Uh, yeah — we know that. Everyone knows that. The only people who say we're an "occupation force" are idiots like Hugo Chavez. So again, it seems our policies are shaped not by principle, but by placating thugs.

Look, the U.S. isn't looking for thanks. We get it: We're great and hated for it. If the world were a high school, we'd be the captain of the football team. But the fact is, we've been told by Obama and his adoring media, that our global reputation sucks (it's all Bush's fault).

It seems to me by seeing what America does best, with a flag there to represent it, that might help. But if in your heart, you feel American "exceptionalism" is bunk and patriotism is silly, then you'd prefer the world think we're bad, regardless of our humanitarian efforts.

So screw the flag, and put on some Green Day. No wonder people hate us.

And if you disagree with me, you probably beat up leprechauns.

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."

0h, but bowing to world leaders doesn't make us look bad?

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

Sigh. So so true.

Honestly, who gives a fig. Far more salient things to be concerned with. This is fluff.

Agree, America's relationship with other countries is at an all time high, worrying about this is the least of the country's concerns now.

Most Americans disagree with that statement.

The Democracy Corps-Third Way survey released Monday finds that by a 10-point margin -- 51 percent to 41 percent -- Americans think the standing of the U.S. dropped during the first 13 months of Mr. Obama's presidency.

Up from 30% during Bush's tenure but probably more important Americans should look at how people in other countries perceive the USA. Ratings are way up in other first world countries.

The President is ultimately responsible to the American voters and not to foreigners who have some pretty odd views of this country. In any free country, the perception of its citizens carry far more weight than any foreigners who in most cases have never been in any given country. In any case, Obama has yet to score any major diplomatic accomplishment with our friends in the first world with the exception of the infamously undeserved Nobel Peace Prize for doing nothing.

You are right that Obama the Socialist has done nothing but have to remember that most other countries are very Socialist so he of course would be welcomed and adored by the rest of the world.

Since we are not as Socialistic as the rest our goods are cheaper and that makes us wealthy as it is hard to compete with us. Now since we are going to be as Socialist as the rest then that means they can now compete with us without firing a shot. It is like we are going to surrender and of course that will make any foreign country love Obama the Socialist.
