I must say that I was really quite surprised how easy our "interview"(wouldn't really classify it as that) was today. It was an AOS for both a K1 and K2 in Omaha NE and everything went smooth. The adjudicator was a pleasant woman, who was not overly friendly but I never got a bad vibe from her. The whole thing really seemed just like a formality really. Almost like she had studied the file beforehand and had her mind made up before we arrived. When we walked out my first thought was; Really that's it? She asked to see both of our driver's licenses and then only asked to see my wife and step daughter's passports(visas and I-94s inside too). She asked to see our son's birth certificate(born in Mexico but is US citizen). She asked if we had any documents to show a relationship such as joint bank account or lease. I showed her a bank account with both our names and an affidavit by my good friend. That was it. She asked the standard questions about being a terrorist or ever being deported or entering the US illegally. I had to ask her if she wanted to see my birth certificate and she said sure. There was not one personal question about our relationship or family asked. In the end, I asked if she wanted to see our wedding album since I had it with me(sort of jokingly). She thumbed through it and made some nice comments.

I'm so happy the last step in this process was probably the easiest of all for us. I was nervous going in. I feel a little dumb for worrying so much and over preparing but it all worked out in the end. She did inform us of lifting conditions before the two year expiration and made us sign a document saying we were informed. She also said we should expect the cards to arrive in 10-14 days. As we were walking out, I saw people in two other rooms who were called in before us and they were still being interviewed. Maybe we were lucky or maybe we just did everything right and didn't have anything to hide, but I'm glad it's over now.

Grats on your interview!

Was it in that big new building by the airport? I went there for biometrics but I never had an interview as my case got sent to CSC and was completed without interview. - The people there were so nice! even the security guys were.

Congrats! Hope mine goes that easy, too, but I know it won't. So, I need to be prepared. Ha ha. Anyway, once again, congrats! Cheers.
