I'm a Star Wars lover so I'd go for that (eps 4 5 and 6), but if that's not your style maybe Alien? The first and second ones are awesome! Sci-Fi meets horror movie at it's best!

Movies that I highly recommend if you never watched:

- Fried Green Tomatoes

- Driving Miss Daisy (adorable and sweet and great acting all together!)

- The Notebook (THE romantic movie) *done

- L.A. Confidential

- The Usual Suspects

- Fight Club

- 12 Angry Men. (Superb oldie!)

- Fargo (quirky and intelligent humour)

- Se7en

- Thelma and Louise

- As good as it gets (one of the best comedies for me)

- Jerry Maguire

- A Beautiful Mind *done

- The Pianist

- Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon (beautiful) *done

- Memento (great mind twister)

- Little Miss Sunshine (another quirky funny one)

- The Others (best "scary")

- Donnie Darko (weirld, cult movie, odd, I liked it :P )

Thanks for sharing, milady. :star:

I liked this one: "I was never the one to patiently pick up broken fragments and glue them together and tell myself that the mended whole was as good as new. What is broken is broken... I'm too old to believe in such sentimentalities as clean slates and starting all over."

That is a good quote, I'd forgotten about that one. Dave had a book about our relationship done for me by a friend of his who's an artist. Her really wanted a Gone With the Wind quote in it. That page of the book reads "Frank my dear, I don't give a damn".

I forgot about Moulin Rouge, if you haven't seen it, it is really good, I was skeptical at first but once I watched it I was sold. Ladylethal has some really good movies among her suggestions as well.

Here are some of my favorite quirky movies that don't often make it on anyone's list:

Burnt by the Sun (1994)

Urga (Close to Eden - 1992) - from same director, Nikita Mikhalkov.

East is East

....

You've been given a lot of suggestions, so I'll keep to just those three. :) If I had to choose just one, I'd say Close to Eden. :)

Thanks, Steve. :D I watched "The Last of the Mohicans" a few weeks ago.

I was never crazy about that movie. I honestly don't get Daniel Day Lewis. I know a lot of people consider him a great actor. He's intense, but he's no Meryl Streep.

I was merely curious about "The Last of the Mohicans." I sometimes enjoy historical films.

I don't admire celebrities so much but I respect some of them like Sean Connery, Anthony Hopkins, and Brad Pitt. Well, I can't say Pitt is handsome; yet, I like his movies "Babel," "Meet Joe Black," "Legends of the Fall," and "A River Runs Through It."

Oh, Anthony Hopkins' Hannibel Lecter is one of the most convincing villians in cinema, ever. :)

I remember my father loved A river runs through it, I gave it to him as a gift back in the early 90's. I watched it so many times but it's been about 15 years since I last watched it.
