Hiya Nat,

I wont be able to let you know more myself till Sept 7th. My boyfriend is from the UK he flew in to Dulles the first time on June 23rd 2006 under the VWP. He recieved 0 problems. They asked why he was here he told them to see his girlfriend, they asked how long he was staying that trip was for 10 days which he told them. They asked where he would be staying and he gave them my address, and they asked if it was his first time in the USA which it was so his answer was yes, and that was it he was through customs. He left in 10 days when the trip over so no over stays or anything either.

Our next trip is scheduled for Sept 7th and same thing he will be arriving in Dulles but this trip is for 88 days(hopefully, since I understand customs has the right to decide how long you can actually stay on the VWP) so we are expecting it wont be quite so easy, and since its the second trip they'll probably have alot more questions. Though we havent sent off our I-129f yet we are going to wait till hes came here before we do, so its a little less worry about him getting him.

So basically first trip through dulles was a breeze second trip we will find out soon. Right now just trying to get some evidence of his ties in England, basically using anything we can find, and he has already bought his return ticket too so hoping that might help.

Dulles was OK for me, you do not give enough details to comment if you are likely to have issues.

Customs are not involved in the admissions process.

With the VWP you get 90 days or nothing.

You need a return ticket, well one going out, to be able to use the VWP.

OKay well not customs then, whoever questioned him about his intentions on arriving in the US we didnt have any problems the first trip.

Dont really understand your 90 day comment? You dont have to use all 90 days you can set the trip for anytime you want up to 90 days, but i have read on several websites that once you state the purpose of your trip whoever it is your talking to has the right to determine the actual length of your stay, Ill see if i can find the links to those sites and post them back here

and yeah we already have the return ticket.
