Hello everyone - I hope you're all happy and healthy today.

I haven't been around much - still trying to adjust to a new schedule. I can't access a computer from work, and it seems my kids need the computer every night to get their homework done, so that really limits things for me.

The wee ones are off school today and tomorrow for conferences, so I took the day off as well. So, I thought I'd check things out today since I actually can.... I have to somehow save up to get the kids a netbook or something, I think....

Good afternoon to everyone!

It DOES seem to have been a little quiet around here lately, maybe the late winter doldrums have taken their tolls! lol Ah, but spring is just around the corner, and I am jealous of those who have already gotten a taste of it. I'm ESPECIALLY jealous of Sara enjoying 70-degree temps in Casablanca....and by the way, what a precious picture of Fatimah lounging on her babba!!

Anyway, just finishing up the final touches in preparation for Salim's arrival this Saturday, insha'allah!!! Do you think 4 drawers and 2 feet of closet space is enough for him??? LOL Being a girl, it's REALLY hard to sacrifice closet space, you know. Those shoes have to live somewhere!!!!

Hope everyone has a great weekend and I send my best wishes to all those preparing for interviews....

~Beth

Do you see how big the sea is?

Do you see how big the sea is? My love for you is as big as the sea.

Do you see how far the sky is? My love for you is as far as the sky.

As big as the sea and as far as the sky I love you,

I waited for you, I called upon you, I drew you on the promenades,

You sorrow of my life, you tears of the flowers, you season of the birds,

How vast the forest is, my heart is as vast as the forest.

You who are drawn on my door, and drawn in my heart,

I waited for you a year, and throughout the year I would ask the walnut trees,

and I would see you in the sunny days, coming from the sunny days, and lost in the almond leaves,

How small is a tear, and I am just a tear in your way,

I want to vow a candle so that you would let me love you.

Happy Thursdy to everyone :)

doing laundry today - does it make me a bad mother that I take my 2 year old to daycare sometimes even if I am not at work :P aaahhhh - the peace, the quiet! the putting away of toys and have it stay that way for a few hours!!

I think I'll make a meatball tagine later with some fresh tomatoes....

I hope its a good day for all of you.

oh, and Beth - I think 2 feet of closet space is VERY generous - its more than my poor husband had for a long time. however his revenge has been to use the armchair in the bedroom as his defacto closet so I guess we are even.

Kelz and Sara, I swear I'm so happy the hubby is home w/ the twins. I make it thru an entire Saturday alone with both of them when he's out and I swear I want to yank my hair out! LOL :P I love my job, I love my job!

He loves the goofy days they have, planning their activities and doing new things with them. I love it but a few hours at a time or I'm going batty! Plus they think commands in English are "funny" and commands in "Arabic" from Baba are the ones they "prefer" to listen too. :P I applaud anyone one who stays home full time its very very tough work and requires so much patience. God bless!

Annie, your right there is a HUGE difference in our house between "no" and "l'aa" or "stop" and "bass"

Zaid needs timeout 30 times a day when Im home alone, but if Sof is here all he needs to say is L'aa and Zaid stops whatever he is doing and doenst dare try and do it again.

He had timeout 3 times for opening the dishwasher today. He knows he cant touch it and I KNOW HE KNOWS bc as im taking a pee he runs to the bathroom and says "HI MOMMMY HI MOMMY...NO TOUCH IT" I then realized he had already opened it while I was in the bathroom and tried making me think he didnt!!
